And your false argument about "people dying because they don't have access to healthcare" is utter bullshit.

Even illegal aliens have access to healthcare in the US

Your ignorance is staggering. It really is. You just repeat nonsense that you hear or read on some far-left media outlet and parrot it without even thinking or researching it.
Isn't that all liberals? :) Don't think or research anything for themselves?

      I love threads like this.

It proves to me that there still is hope for this nation...however outnumbered we are.

Continue as I keep reading. :)

Thank You. But this Oregon is no longer my Oregon. I grew up in a place that had a healthy respect for the environment and also responsibility (for the most part) harvested from the environment. Nature was a wonder and was appreciated. Then came the first "bottle bill". This legislation put a 5 cent fee on all beverage cans and bottles. The idea was to help keep things clean by giving people incentive to return the used containers. Who would have thought such a nice sounding thing would turn out the way it did.

This legislation prompted more. All the long-haired, birkenstock wearing, hairy-armpit whackos started migrating in their flower adorned VW Buses from New Your City and California to Portland and Eugene because they were drawn to the vacuous Eden of peoplewhothinkliketheydo (which wasn't true but became a self-fulfilling prophecy). The whacko content went up every year after that. Soon, the honest and sane native inhabitants were overwhelmed with whackos. Some joined the whackos just to fit in. Other chose to move to Montana and Idaho. Still others, like myself, tough it out. We now have the People's Republic of Portland with its remote satellite, Eugene, controlling the entire state. Insanity is contagious apparently, because the number of whackos increases still today. I am fighting the good fight hoping for a day where Oregon will return to its solid roots and understand that cutting down a fucking tree is a good thing.

Good grief, grab a pair like a real man and form an opinion. I know, I know, that will force you to have to think and maybe read something 'boring'. But it'll be good for you.

I personally think it is the lazy, "I want to hug everybody so we can all get along" limpdicks who are scared to form an opinion because it might offend somebody are the reason a dangerous idealist could get elected as president. Waffle some more, maybe somebody will pour some man-syrup on you.

I wanted to correct some misconceptions on the Bush tax cuts with regards the rich.

Bush's tax cut by percent was the largest for those making under $20k a year. His largest cut for actual dollars was for those making over $200k. Makes sense because the tax rate went from 39 to 35. A 4% tax cut on 200k is more than a 5% tax cut on 20k dollar wise. I say in real dollars, it would have a just as much of a positive affect on those making $20k. He also cut the rate for those earning under $8k to tax free when before they paid at 15%. Also per dollar earned, Bushs tax cuts where more than Obamas tax credits in every bracket.

                  Currently,

                  Previously,

He also increased the dollar amount individuals can put inside of an IRA every year from $2000 in 2003 to $5000 today with an additional $1000 for those over 50. He created the 529 plan which has sent thousands to college. He also tried to completely cancel the AMT tax which comes in for married couples earning $45k. He tried to make stock dividends tax free, instead congress changed to a partial cut. Dividend tax cuts encourage investments and really helps seniors offset rising expenses. I wished for more, but at least he worked with both parties to get it passed. He aslo created tax credits for children.

Now this is only part of what he went he wanted and what he got passed. If you compare the tax cuts to the small rebates we get now with Obama, there's a big difference. The 2001 recession was very short. I argue its because of the stimulus was geared toward bring the American Consumer back. We all remember the go out and spend/dinner speach he gave. On the other hand, Obama believes the Gov should be the consumer. I argue that Gov spending increase interest rates, aka the Carter days, but that's a different point. My main point is to get people to research exactly what the differences are from Bush Fiscal Plan verses Obamas. Also understand that Bushs was not for the rich, it was for everybody.

And the funny thing is that even after all the money that is "taken away", these people still have money to own multiple houses, Ferrari's, and private jets. Tell me why again they need the extra few dollars?

And my argument is in regards to the entire planet, not just the US. The majority of people on this planet do not have access to food, clean water, sanitation, education, health care, and the list goes on.

"Why they need the extra few dollars" - No one technically needs anything, it's what IS THEIRS! Share your weed dude, you don't need it.

Hey, if you're so worried about people across the world then adopt one or 2 billion. You seem to have the answers to everything.

Not our faults their cultures failed to embrace any sort of culture/civilization that will allow them to succeed and flourish. Survival of the fittest. It's a shitty situation, but there is nothing you or I can do. And America has enough problems at home then trying to fix Africa's constant fucking-habbit that spreads AIDS.

Is pour man-syrup like Blunt cum? If so more please.

Truly I do have an opinions even though they are wrong.

Both side have good people in them that want to do good. Both side have people just looking out for themselves and only do and say things to get elected/reelected.

I believe our governments lack of ability to make decisions on tough issues has gotten us to the point where we are at now. Both sides are responsible in my opinion. I would really love to see our government work towards the greater good of us all and not to work to divide us on what usually comes down to personal choice issues in my opinion.

I also feel that we should use our taxes to help people that truly need to be helped but not to the point where they get to live off that help for life. God I wish Clinton kept his promise to clean up welfare. Just like I wish Bush had kept his promise to get rid of earmarks and get the line item veto.

I don't think it is a good idea to borrow money and make the government the biggest consumer in the US. Maybe I'll be proven wrong and it will work.

I also think term limits and getting rid of lobbyist will help us avoid the type of government we have now in the future. Everyone should write their representatives at least once a month, we should be the lobbyists and hold the people we elect accountable for their actions or lack of actions. Also we should all pay attention to elections that do not involve a presidential candidate.

I'd like to believe that if our elected officials could get over their petty party differences that they could come together and accomplish great things.

I also believe I should not read political thread on r3v anymore.

, I wasn't really aiming at the Blunt thing, but that is funny. It just ticks me off that so many people just waffle around voting for what they think sounds good when they have absolutely no clue what they are doing.

Good, you have thought about this stuff and you have an opinion. I mostly agree with your sentiments. However, I would argue one small change to your position. I want the government to do as little as possible. That is the only thing I want them to come together on. I don't want them to come together on a majority of topics because I honestly don't want them regulating our lives and that is the end result we get when Congress passes laws.

Keep posting though... it's fun. Only a few regulars get really nasty and dive right into the personal attacks. I have actually learned some good stuff after researching things that were pointed out on this board. Amazing, isn't it?
