Our founding fathers said that every person is created equal. The capitalist establishment does not allow every person to be equal. In a capitalist society the low income earners are just as important as the high income earners. So why can't the multi-millionaires be decent human beings and provide basic services to these people? Does it make you feel good that people are starving? Does it make you feel good that people are dying because they don't have access to healthcare?
Yes, the bankers are very hungry. I do not feel good about the bankers desire for great amounts of wealth. This point is driven even closer to home when the poor, lower class, and hungry citizens have to also give their hard earned money (to the Federal government) to support private companies which should have failed.
I really don't have any problem with sharing my money with people who are appreciative of it, hell I'll share all my shit with people who are appreciative of it.
Its people with the mentality of the mexicants that come into this country, the homeless that don't give a shit and think its everyone elses problem, the poor me's, the i wish i could haves, the i should have dones, and the if only I ___ i could have ___. The people that bitch and complain that their situation sucks and do nothing about it.
These are the people that get my taxes and it drives me fucking nuts.
If they all got up and got a job, went to school, became citizens, PAID TAXES LIKE THE REST OF US, and stopped bitching about how SHITTY THEIR LIFE is that THEY HAVE AUTHORED, I would gladly buy them all a fucking savings bond and a steak dinner.
... Oh and look, theres that "money" word again. Shit, humanity would be better off without it.
Did you really say that? LOL, oh man, you are soooo lost. I know you meant that somewhat facetiously, but good grief, get a grip son.
You want to go back to the barter system then? Lets see, I assume you go to college for a living, so therefore you work at a Circle K or something. So the owner has to pay you with what? Cans of cheese whiz? You can then take that and trade it for some gas for your car and the rest for a hamburger... of course that's assuming they guy selling the gas wants cheese whiz. Maybe he actually wants a wrench, so you need to go find somebody who makes wrenches that also happens to want some cheese whiz so you can trade the wrench for gas. Yep, that's a good system right there.
But, I assume you were more implying that we all just share what we have equally and everybody will be happy. Do you even have a single clue about humanity? We are not evolved enough for that. There are always people who will take advantage of the system. There will be schleps who never do anything at all and still expect an equal share. There will be power mongers who will weasel and cheat and find a way to get more than the other guy and to force their will on others. But mostly, there will be zero incentive to ever do any work. Why should you? You don't get anything out of it. Humanity would degrade into massive chaos and strife. And no, good intentions about being good to your fellow man will not suffice.
In the end, people who want something better will just split off and find someplace else to be where they will build a house and a farm and go it completely on their own just so they can be responsible for themselves and be free. When there are enough of them, they will form a nation and they will call that nation America, land of the free, home of the brave.

Well said.
edit: wow, probably the gayest clapping emoticon out there.
And the funny thing is that even after all the money that is "taken away", these people still have money to own multiple houses, Ferrari's, and private jets. Tell me why again they need the extra few dollars?
And my argument is in regards to the entire planet, not just the US. The majority of people on this planet do not have access to food, clean water, sanitation, education, health care, and the list goes on.
Holmes, I had no idea you were such a bitch.
The people who own those jets, Ferraris, and multiple houses don't necessarily NEED the extra money, but they earned it through their own hard work and they deserve to keep it for themselves and spend it as they see fit. Why should they give any of their hard earned money away?
The thing is, I have no problem giving some of my money away to people that truly deserve and appreciate it. I watched a movie a couple days ago, I'm sure some of you have heard about it, "Invisible Children". It's about the child soldiers who are abducted in Africa and are forced to fight. The dedication they go through to do their homework each day, on a wet blanket next to a sewer with the only light coming from a candle, I know if they were given half a chance here in America they could go really far. I would have NO problem with giving some of my money to them to give them a better chance, but it bothers me to the core that I am forced to give my money to people who have so many oppurtunities here and squander it all just because they're lazy. Fuck them.
Since when does the USA have an obligation to every third world country that has problems within their own borders? It truly is sad how some people live, but it is not America's duty to look after them.

Could not have been better said.
Basically, Holmes wants the star trek universe to come true. However the only reaosn the star trek universe existed was because technology advanced to a stage in which there wasn't really a need for money anymore, they had the resources and technology to fabricate simple needs, and the only true pursuit was relationships and better technology.
When no one stands to gain anything from the system, but still strive to make the system better, is the only time such a life could exist. And we simply aren't there.
Apparently, hundreds of thousands of people all across the country (possibly over a million) protesting government spending and over taxation
That's Fox's "estimate", not reality...
Don't kid yourself, you would be lucky if the total was 1,000,000
still very small in Rally standards for a National Rally...
And your false argument about "people dying because they don't have access to healthcare" is utter bullshit.
Even illegal aliens have access to healthcare in the US
Your ignorance is staggering. It really is. You just repeat nonsense that you hear or read on some far-left media outlet and parrot it without even thinking or researching it.
actually, YOUR ignorance is staggering...
sure, if you have a cold, it will be treated,
even if you break a leg, it will be treated,
it will bankrupt you but it will be treated,
but walk in needing an organ transplant or treatment for Cancer and you will die,
they will not treat that,
it's happening to a local guy here,
single father of two hoping to live long enough to get his two kids thru high school so that they can support themselves after he dies,
he has head and neck cancer,
no insurance,
and the hospitals are not required to help him....
it is not considered "Emergency Care" so he will die at 45 years old...
Hallen,
we have talked before,
and I think you may be spending too much time here Sir, as your posts are starting to mirror the kiddies....
you always accuse all of us who speak with logic and knowledge as being the mind washed puppets of conservative pundits and FOX news. Think about this, everything you post here might as well have come directly out of CNN's scripts. If anybody here is brainwashed, it is you. This video is direct proof of how horribly biased, unethical, and fabricated CNN news is. MSNBC and the networks are just about as bad or worse. I won't blame you though. It's obvious that you don't have the capacity to sort the chaff from the wheat.
eventhough, I may agree with some of your posts, not all of them...
most of the time you seem grounded until something like this...
and I do question your "logic and knowledge" when it comes to FOX,
anyone with a true unbiased logic or knowledge knows that they are very far from Fair and Balanced...
even the top dogs of your party pushers are acknowledging that....
good thing he didn't mention the WSJ, huh???
wheew, close one...
The fact that some Genius from your party named this Rally "Teabagging"
(eventhough they tried last minute to call it TeaBag, when for the last month they have been calling it TeaBagging) just goes to show how out of touch they really are...
this rally is nothing but to rally hate and ignorance, nothing more, nothing less...
Just more of the same,
Our way or we will destroy you,
RW Tactics...
The same tactics that won them this last election...
That's Fox's "estimate", not reality...

lol, first, if your are going to criticize what I said, then please read what I wrote. I didn't say anything one way or another about how Fox represents the news. What I did say, is that a very common argument I hear coming from Liberals is that all we conservatives are basically brainwashed by Fox news. LOL, if you all only knew how absolutly silly, and honestly stupid, you sound when you say that. My point is that you can very easily make the same argument about Liberals and all the other mainstream news outlets other than Fox. Honestly, you can't get away from the rest of the media. It is everywhere. Every time I open my browser I see news from AP, CNN, MSNBC, etc. I read it. I know what they produce. I would argue that very few of the Liberals on this board ever watch Fox news so they have no idea what is on there. They only seem to know about what the Liberal media wants to show them. So, who is really brainwashed here? It's a sad thing really, we shouldn't have to think that way about any "legitimate" news source.
And just for the record, it is very, very obvious if you watch Fox just exactly what the News is and just exactly what the opinion is. O'Reilly, Hannity, that new guy, etc, it's all opinion and showman ship. It's entertaining sometimes, but it isn't news and they don't make it out as news.
For the other mainstream outlets, they don't seem to make a distinction between news and opinion as the video that started this thread shows quite plainly.
One of the reasons the Republicans failed miserably in the last election is that they didn't face the real issues and problems with this country. Instead, they just talked about playing nice with the Democrats. They were spineless. They were not credible. They failed. Obama just plain lied. People beleived him, he got elected. We have to live with that.
The tea parties across the nation were a big deal. You have to understand that in general, conservatives are not the type of people who do rallies. If even just 100,000 people came out for that one night (and it was not the first set of tea parties and it won't be the last) it is a big deal. People are sick of the huge tax burden that is placed on us just to see that money squandered by government (I paid 40% this year not including all the hidden taxs like gas tax etc and I am exactly in the middle of the middle class). People are pissed and there are a lot of them. I can guarantee you that for every 1 person at those rallies, there were 10 sitting at home chearing them on.
I also find it very funny that the main stream media is also
1) Spending more time giggling like schoolgirls about the term "tea bagging" than they do presenting actual news. That term isn't used by Freedom works to describe the tea party, btw. From what I can see, it is a term mostly derisively bandied about by the liberal media in an attempt to discredit the tea parties. "Tea bagging" is also a term used by people who drink tea. Just because kids addicted to internet porn also use the term, does not mean they own the term.
2) To represent these tea parties as "Fox News" events is a blatant misrepresentation of the facts. It's a bald faced lie.
3) To represent these tea parties as "anti-government" is yet again a blatant lie. The tea parties are about unfair and unjust taxation. It isn't about trying to overthrow the government.
4) The tea parties were not a republican event. The Republicans jumped on board, like politicians will do, but it wasn't their event.
So, if you just use a little bit of logic and common sense, go to Freedom works and read up on the tea parties, and I think you will see that most of the media misrepresented them and they did that on purpose. Then ask yourself the question why they did that.
"Why they need the extra few dollars" - No one technically needs anything, it's what IS THEIRS! Share your weed dude, you don't need it.
Hey, if you're so worried about people across the world then adopt one or 2 billion. You seem to have the answers to everything.
Not our faults their cultures failed to embrace any sort of culture/civilization that will allow them to succeed and flourish. Survival of the fittest. It's a shitty situation, but there is nothing you or I can do. And America has enough problems at home then trying to fix Africa's constant fucking-habbit that spreads AIDS.
America has an obligation to everybody because the capitalist establishment has sunk its teeth into every last inch of this planet and is literally sucking the life out of it. Have you ever heard of Union Carbide and the Bhopal Disaster? In 1984, the Union Carbide chemical plant in Bhopal, India leaked poisonous gas which ended up exposing hundreds of thousands of people and killing ten of thousands not to mention severely contaminating the soil, air, and wildlife of the surrounding area. This is what capitalism does. It rapes and pillages this planet and destroys the health of,and flat out kills, human beings. The capitalist establishment does not care about anything other than profit. Human beings that die from chemical explosions are nothing but X amount of money to the executives of these companies. This is all thanks to America and the British Empire and is thus why we have a responsibility to keep this disgusting system in check, and ensure the well being of the environment and people of the entire planet. That is until the barbaric capitalist system is replaced by a better more civilized one.

Your post is also hypocritical.
My post isn't hypocritical at all, you just need to actually know what you are talking about before you try to sound smart about something. Low income earners do not in fact pay an income tax. I don't know where the income tax bracket actually starts but the lower the income, the lower percentage of money you pay and vice versa. This makes complete sense given that a Toyota Camry costs the same amount whether you make 50k a year or 2 million a year. A person that makes two million and gets half taken away still has a million fucking dollars which is plenty for any person to sustain themselves and a family of 6. A person who makes 50k a year and gets half taken away only has 25k left which is not plenty to sustain a family of 6. The low income earners need the money more than the high income earners.
The pro's and con's of American society could easily fill a library. Here's my opinion on what America was meant to be... People are generally good and capable of making their own decisions. Hard work should be rewarded and encouraged. If someone is "down on their luck" help them out. The government exists to protect and serve the people. Elected officials should do what's best for country.
The US doesn't owe other nations anything. It's the people of that nation who bear responsibility for their country and form of government. The US is not responsible for all the problems in the world, but should help your friends (nations) when you can.
The people of this country are becoming a bunch of whiners. They feel they are "owed" something from the government. Even if it means taking something away from someone who has worked to get it. The politicians then give that something to the whiners so they can get re-elected, even if it is against the long term interests of the nation. Bad behavior, laziness and fraud shouldn't be rewarded.

Oh, so you really are a communist. LOL, how funny. A proven fact is that communism does not work, yet you still cling to it. I think that says pretty much everything about your capacity for reason.
Corruption, selfishness, and evil exist. That is what causes bad things to happen. Capitalism is not the root of evil. People are. People are competitive. It is instinct. It is not something you can ignore. You can use it positively or you can use it in a negative way, but you can't get rid of it. Communism assumes that bad human traits don't exist and it assumes that competitiveness does not exist. For those two reasons, it will always be doomed to failure. Good human traits also exist of course. But communism again makes the mistake of assuming that 100% of the people will 100% of the time adhere to those good traits. Again, this is a stupid assumption. Lastly, and I keep having to make this point, people will not do something for nothing. Never, ever, never. Communism assumes that they will.
Capitalism in a free market with a free society is the only system that makes any sense at all. Checks and balances must be used of course and there must be the threat of punishment if rules are broken. But to blame some chemical disaster in India on capitalism is extremely naive and ignorant. Selfish and evil people caused that problem (I am assuming it happened, I am not going to look it up), not capitalism.
My advice to you Holmes is to grow up, live a little and start paying attention to what people really are. Idealism is all fine and dandy when you are smoking dope and your biggest worry is that Literature 101 final you have coming up. At some point, where you hold life and death in your hands and you are responsible and you do the right thing, then maybe, maybe you'll understand. Let me put it this way: Holmes version 1.0 is seriously buggy. You should wait until Holmes version 3.0 at least before you go public. I know you don't really understand, but that's just one of your bugs. Hopefully, you'll figure out how to fix it at some point.
The fact that the MSM and others used the word "teabagging" in a demeaning manner to describe hundreds of thousands of people gathering to protest out of control government taxation and spending says how far out of touch the media is, not the people protesting.
To say that the protesters are out of touch because they are unaware that "teabagging" is a slang term used primarily in the homosexual community is one of the stupidest arguments ever made.
Even stupider is that networks like CNN and MSNBC made numerous references to the slang meaning of the term and giggled like High School Sophomores who just discovered that their own flatulence is flammable while covering the event shows why their ratings are tanking and that the MSM is out of touch with mainstream America, not the other way around.
As much as the MSM wants to mock and demean hundreds of thousands of Americans, something they never do to the lefties that protest, lay down in the middle of the street blocking traffic, smash windows, burn trash cans and act like idiots, speaks volumes about the bias and the lack of credibility of the media.
I wonder if the MSM would use the same slang reference to describe the Boston Tea Party held in 1773?
The video of the CNN Reporette says it all. She didn't want to hear the answer to the question she asked - she wanted to recite Obama talking points to a live TV audience and then insult the protesters as being mindless shills marching on orders from a rival network. A rival network that is kicking their ass in the ratings.
BTW, CNN has blocked emails to her account. I guess they don't want to hear the truth or the opinions of people who were actually there and saw what happened.
Now, who is it that is out of touch?
Why is the media so afraid of the truth?
I thought it was there job to report facts and not make them up and mold them to fit their agenda.

Unfortunately, that's not a bug, that's a feature.
