    Mongo for fucking life.

I would think the wider Indys would serve you well, you can always get softer/harder bushings. But I have never really just cruised around on a long board.

            Just picked this up tonight:

Got it off Craig's List for $65. Looks like it has barely been ridden.

Just wondering, this all looks really fun and stuff, but whats the difference attraction? Are long boards somehow more stable then normal skateboards or what?

a simple answer to that is yes. very much more stable. you can handle higher speeds and insane turns. its also just a very relaxed ride for taking a mellow cruise.

I'm starting to get more and more of a jones all the time for bombing long hills... very much fun, like snowboarding in the summer.

I have the same one as the original post. Speed wobble's a bitch on any board though. Fast+pavement=ow for about 50 feet.

Well, I just ended my longboarding stint for a little while, at least until I can afford new trucks.

Andy and I went out riding in this AWESOME subdivison today, nothing but long, sweeping hills with very little traffic. So we decided to take this one that was super long and pretty steep at the beginning, but leveled out at the bottom.

So we hit it, get hauling ass, and I'm just FLYING. I pass Andy, and see that after the hill levels out and crests, it drops back down again. Not very steep, but enough to keep plenty of speed. Once it levels out and crests, I'm still carrying tons of speed, probably still doing like 20-25.

Then I see it. At the bottom of the hill, it dead-ends and you can go left or right on the street, so I decide to cut left, and see if I can carry it out. I am still hauling serious ass, and I'm not very good at carving on my toe side yet. So I get about halfway into the apex, and realize I'm just going way too fucking fast to make it. So I slam the curb, jump off and try to hit the ground running, get one foot down, and just eat shit. MAJOR fucking road rash on my left leg, from the side of my calf all the way up to my hip, the inside of my left forearm, and my right elbow. Get back up, dust myself off, start wiping of all the blood, and look down at my board...

First time I've seen an Indy break like that.

Gald it's just road rash and not worse.

I need to go out and skate.

Yeah, I'm fine, nothing broken or anything, just a lot of road rash and bruised pride. :D

                              oh cock.

Go with Randalls next. They have a different kingpin configuration that reduces speed wobble and actually lets you turn properly at speed.
