So my buddy here in Jackson is trying to offload his wakeboard boat. Its a 2008 Mastercraft X1 thats pretty loaded. Ballah stereo, 350 horse motor, 1850 ballast, etc. Doesnt want to much for it either, 30k with 72 hours on it or so. Basically wants to get out of his payments, not trying to make a buck.
But my thoughts cant seem to get away from the old adage "a boat is a hole in the water you pour money into". Im not naive, and realize that this thing is going to be expensive between insurance, gas, maintenance, etc. But just how expensive. Realistically it will be in the water 1 day a week for 4 months of the year. So give or take between 16-20 full days a year.
I live in Idaho like Farbin, shit is pretty damn cheap here. I can afford a sweet toy, but I dont want to be in to far over my head. For the boat owners out there, how much realistically does running your boat cost you a year. Im not talking payments, but rather all the other stuff like gas, insurance, etc. Payments vary from boat to boat, but the general stuff should give me an idea. Like I said, Im prepared for it to be rediculous, i just want to know how much so.
