Geithner dispelled that yesterday. I suspect tax increases are coming soon as well as the White House using a budget trick to ram health care through.


As far as healthcare, look at the latest story to come out of England. They are going to nix pain injections for those who suffer from severe chronic back pain because it will save $34 million pounds a year.

Like the other dude said naturalizing them I am all for that requires them to learn Engrish, and about the History of the country and how the political system works along with US laws. This process helps to integrate them into the US culture and society much better. Amnesty just gives all the illegals the same thing with out having to go though the classes and take the tests and really truly become US citizens. = Bull shit.


Toy your other post, the 14th amendment was addressing the slave and US citizen issues making freed slaves (that chose to stay here) automatically US citizens. You still have to be a natural born citizen to be eligible for the office of POTUS.

Sorry for going backwards in the discussion here but I was under the impression that naturalizing illegal immigrants would be in all of our best interests. If for no other reason than making them pay taxes. Now granted there would be a proportion that would still be on government assistance but I see that as a separate issue that needs addressed regardless of the status of the immigrants. Now if "amnesty" in the sense your using it refers to something other than citizenship then I would be interested to find out what this plan entails but otherwise I feel that it's a better plan than building a modern version of the Berlin Wall at the southern border.

all of the debt/defecit is certainly not an issue of too few tax dollars being collected by the feds, it a spending problem pure and simple. you want a better economy, more jobs, higher wages? leave the dollars in the economy, not washington dc.

If people truly wanted "change" they would vote 3rd party instead of running back and forth between the same 2 parties acting all surprised when the same tired solutions don't work.

I am usually indifferent to all this politics, but I just came home from Milwaukee/Chicago trip and I've come to a conclusion on my political dilemma. Wisconsin and Illinois are quite possibly the most democratically ran states, and I absolutely hated what I saw.

California has them both beat easily.
