8-10 years ago, when my youthful idealism was peaking, Bush2 came around. Trust me, he did as much to shatter that American dream as Obama is doing for you and your peers. For my generation, a vote for Obama was really the only option after the clusterfuck of Halliburton/Cheney/FEMA/Swingin' on the nuts of the Saudis.

I personally feel that we should straighten out shit on our own shores, but not in a handout sort of way. Maybe FDR had it right? I need an old-timer to set me straight.

I still like Obama. I think he can do some good for this country. If I had to vote again I would still vote for the man instead of Mr McCain. I don't like every single thing that he does/passes but I am some what pleased to see him in office instead of Bush or McCain.

this president has lost favor faster than anyone due to, imho:

#1 he ran as a post-partisan centrist (his words), and has governed as a chicago democrat partisan hack. he lied to the public to get elected. and before anybody chimes in that all politicians lie to get elected, its about fucking time we all held them to their words. he is supposed to be the new type of politician, and he turns out to be anything but.

#2 too much change too fast. the public, and people in general, resist change, and this pres and his minions in congress are at Warp 8 getting pent up legislation passed with or without public approval and with or without the new policies being needed. fueling this is rahm's caught-on-tape statement about never letting a crisis go to waste.

#3 the pres has absolutely busted the budget. people are scared about it, and it has a higher priority than healthcare as something that needs fixing. unfuckingbelievable.
