All the local guys here say otherwise. My bestfriend went there and ended up going into the Marine Core because the best job he could get was a bottom of the barrel tech job at the local Ford Dealership. Another bestfriend went and is now in his 3rd year at ASU for Mechanical Engineering because he couldn't get a job. And many other guys I know of from az240sx.org (I used to own an S13) and azbmw. And I promise you, all of these guys had top grades in their classes and many achievements at the school. They all wished they had never wasted all that money.
I don't know... I guess it is what you make of it, like you said.

Are you just looking to wrench on cars? It's really a waste of money and time in my opinion. Yes they can teach you a lot, but for what you pay you don't get enough out of it. Most of the people I know that went there aren't making over 35k a year.
If you want to go there for 'performance' stuff, consider another school, like Lanier Tech in Atlanta, or one of the other race prep schools.
I busted my ass at UTI and got nothing out of it."Our mother of blessed acceleration don't fail me now."

Yes it is what you put it in but well UTI has made a rep for themselves that companies don't care if you applied yourself or not..... they will be skeptical...
If you trying to get into the racing field (like me, crew chief or mech for a nasa or speed tv challenge) try getting your self an engineering degree and while doing that intern at a company.....Slamburglars Handbook:
5. Slamburglars don't get stuck on speed bumps, speed bumps get stuck on Slamburglars

Why are you thinking about going to a 4 year university?
Going to a community college for 2 years then applying to transfer is a very good option that will save you a good amount of money and if you really care about your education you can gain a lot and graduate with a degree (which is infinitely important especially in this economy).
But why UTI?Flickr

THIS.
Is not for everybody. No matter how much it is drilled into your head. Four year schools are not for everyone, don't EVER let anyone tell you otherwise.
But seriously, I was signed up for UTI torwards the end of high school. After hearing some stories from a few friends of mine that had already "graduated" I decided to take a different route.
