I-Phone vs Blackberry

With the new Blackberries out(Bold,Tour,Onyx) they are a step above the iphone. The iphone is a toy, has tons of apps but that's about it. If you are using it for lot's of email during the day or have a big business BB is the way to go. The BES is truly amazing(for you that don't know that the Blackberry Enterprise Server). Blackberries compress data more so you get more data use for your money. Email is far superior as well. The new BB software comes with Documents to go so you can edit your Word and Excel documents right on your phone. Also, 2 important features on the BB is the ability to PIN and of course BBM.

I love my blackberry and BBM, but I'll probably need to try out some sort of Android device more. It seems like it's pretty developed now.
The iPhone really hasn't made that many improvements since it was released. It's essentially the same thing to use, and thus I get bored with it. Hopefully Apple can come up with something badass next.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

I have nothing against crackberries, I just don't really care for them as a phone.
The Iphone works very well as a business device now, and I have every app I could possibly need to connect to every work related function I need.
It was a toy, now it works as much more.
Aside from that, you're right..
And you should mention your phone is jailbroken too..
:)
So basically its an Android phone now..
Business = Blackberry
Pleasure = IPhone
They keep playing catchup to each other. iPhone wants to be legit like BB, BB wants to be fun like iPhone. /thread

Yeah, but we all know you had just kinda "accept" the iphone email push deal. Only recently has the phone even become useful as a business device. Any company with any sort of confidential data wouldnt even consider putting iPhones on their network and attempting to manage them. You have to agree with this amirite?

A properly setup edge server on exchange, remote wipe on the iphone, properly setup SSL, and proper firewall/IDS configurations and you can easily design something that is secure.
Apple caught up, but keep in mind besides my Slingplayer hack, and having a linux console I didn't NEED to jailbrake :)
I have 10 iphones on the network, and about 30 WinMo phones, management is not that bad to be honest. If I had 2000, 3000, etc I may change my mind, but I'll be worrying about other things when I get that large.

And touche on that stuff.. But you get my point. We go through this on every Blackberry/Iphone thread :)

On my black berry I can push alt+arrow and flip between all open apps instantly. It's just one of those things that I notice... and really is faster.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

Considering I only use my phone for leisure, I have to give my nod to the Iphone. Safari is awesome for browsing the web. It has the best music and video setup considering it is also an ipod. I have all my contacts, my calender and my email synced with gmail. The text messaging is really great. The list goes on.
I used to have a blackberry and while it was a good phone, it just wasn't as fun.

I've got a BlackBerry Bold with AT&T.
My dad has an iPhone. I've played around with it a lot and I like it because the iPhone has a bunch of stuff to distract you and basically have fun with. But I've got a 120gb iPod, I didn't want an iPhone.
I was either going to get an Android based phone or a BB. Couldn't find any Android phones that I wanted and the Lancaster has still yet to show up.
I knew I wanted a qwerty keyboard, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, all that stuff that my 2 and a half year old LG flip phone didn't have. The Bold had it all and it was comfortable to hold.
The only programs that I keep open and running in the background are BerryWeather and Google Maps. BerryWeather updates itself however often you want it to, I've got it set to once every hour. It even alerts me to weather bulletins.
The screen on the Bold is EXTREMELY crisp and clear, but it is easy to scratch, which is why I got a film protector to go on it (similar to Lamin-X).
Oh, and the BB browser isn't that great. I've switched over to OperaMini and it is so much better than the BB browser.My 2.9L Build!
