The 930 (turbo) chassis is physically different than a standard 911 in addition to different components like brakes, tie rods, trailing arms, transmission, engine, wheels, bodywork, etc.
Ahh gotcha! Thanks for the clarity Lorin!

I walk by a showroom every day with a new Carrera GT with the plastic still on the seats, and a Bentley that ran at LeMans in 1929. Both stored for faraway owners. A loophole in Montana state tax law. Also multimillion dollar RV busses who have paid no sales tax.

Many of the exotics in these parts have Montana plates. If you can afford such a car, you can also likely afford to set up a shell corporation in Montana for licensing it.

So these cars has license to be for show and display only but not use it in public roads? That would be a shame not able to use it "sometimes"

Not at all. They are licensed in Montana and can be driven anywhere. They are supposed to spend X amount of time each year in Montana. Their owners are merely skipping out on paying sales tax and license fees in their own state where the car is using public roads.
