I've been lightly/casually looking for a 996 in this exact spec for the better part of ten-eleven years... so when this one came up early last year, it was definitely a case of 'if I don't do it now, I never will'... I bit the bullet, flew across the country, and drove it home. A massive 5k km drive home, in an unknown/sight-unseen car makes for a heck of an adventure. This car is by far one of the best automotive purchases I've ever made and it makes me excited about driving again, exactly like how I felt about my first E30 eons ago.
Took the 912 out for a spin early 2023 and adjusted the valves. Missed the broken valve spring which resulted in a small engine fire. Took the chance to correct all the bad mods by the previous owners and added a battery kill switch.
inherited my step uncle's '95 Carrera last year. it has a long way to go, but is a drivable car again. off the road since '96 after a right side impact at Laguna Seca. took it for it's first drive in almost 30 years to DMV to register it. 20,600 miles. Aventurine Green over tan, 6-speed.
Hell of an inheritance right there! Looking forward to seeing the process.
