Here's my Seiko diver. My dad bought it in the 80's and gave it to me when I got my SCUBA certs when I was 17. It's been to the bottom of the ocean at least 100 times and is beat to hell, but it still keeps perfect time.

                  1st year Swatches ftw.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

I bought a Marathon SAR because I saw a guy run over it with a fire engine. I ran over mine with an ambulance, and my E30 for good measure. I love it.

2002maniac - that took me back. A bunch of us SoCal surfers had those. If you had that watch and a GTI you were all set. Check and check. I lost mine in the late '80s but picked up a similar one with a smoother bezel in Tokyo which I still have somewhere. It was the cool shit because nobody else had one.

Swatches - Jesus, we had a bunch of those back then. What was that, like '85 when those things came out? Went great with the tragic surf fashion we sported at the time.

In recent years I've been wearing a TAG. Never figured out what all the dial things and extra hands on it do. It was an impulse buy on vacation at some caribbean island. Turned out to be a good price, though obviously I don't need all the shit it can apparently do.

I looked on the back and googled the numbers. Here's the one I have:

Maybe one day I'll figure out what all that crap does. At least I can use the time and date.

SAR is a great rugged watch with a rock sold Swiss ETA movement in it. I want to get a Marathon Chrono some day, but have too many other Omegas that are in line to get 1st.
