You guys are just now getting 7? I have had ultimate (not pirate) on my netbook for the past month or so.

i've been running rc for several months now, but not all of us are as special as you appear to be.

Both of my machines are still running XP and I love it, and yes both are new enough that they vista was standard when I got them.

Dell was offering downgrades to XP on their custom machine website yesterday. Today, its not an option.


Plus, for those people having issues with running XP designed programs in 7, XP is built into 7 as a virtual machine. You shouldnt have ANY issues. Im support about 70 pieces of tax/accounting software at my job and they are all meant for XP. No issues so far.
Biggest hiccup seems to be permissions.

Because you get XP inside of it, and it looks and operates a fuck load better.

Everything you do requires less clicks, and actually works (so far).

I've been running on the 7100 beta and RC1 since earlier this year, looking to finally upgrade to the 64bit Pro version. I like my RC1 but it's x86 nd it's only 10 bux for an upgrade from school!

pirated OS isnt that big of a headache if you get the right one. I have a copy of XP Pro that passes validation and works with windows update that is pirated.

i think you have to do a fresh install. i have the RC currently. i'll probably order my $30 copy before the deal ends and install it once i have time to reinstall all the programs i want.
