looks like you have more than enough to run it. i just installed mine and i have no issues at all.

i have a pentium dual core 2.00 GHz, 64 bit. 3 GB ram.

I love Windows 7, the look is different and the way it runs is different. It's so much cleaner/smooth.

Lulz, its cause I didn't do all the updates yet. Running good now. I even downloaded a few apps, gadgets or widgets or whatever they are called. Need some cooler ones though. This does look nice and clean without have to relearn the entire OS again.

So the GFs son has an .edu email address, goes to Oregon State full time.

I need 3 copies. He gets his freebie through the chemical engineering program, but I want 3 more for the machines we have at home.

How do I go about buying 3 copies through this program?

Is this still going on? I just picked up a netbook, and it only csme with Starter edition, I would like to upgrade, but I'm not too interested in paying 79.99 for it on top of the 380.00 I just spent on the damn unit.

Yes, however you can use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade starter to home premium. if anyone is on Starter I have a Home Premium key i'm not using i'll sell for $25. It came with my laptop but I bought Ultimate

Here is an old article on how to do a clean install of windows 7 with the upgrade media.

ITProToday.com is a leading online source of news, analysis and how-to's about the information technology industry.

I haven't tried it - but the guy who wrote it knows his stuff.

Took that piece of junk back and bought a new notebook. I'm not really impressed with this OS.

Netbook or notebook? How come you're not impressed? Win7 is such an improvement over the previous OS's.

I've used XP for years, had Vista for two and have no regrets after upgrading to Win7 at home.

Still rocking XP at work b/c the boss doesn't want to upgrade yet...which is a good thing b/c then I'd have to install it on every single bloody computer here.
