just saying words doesn't mean your correct.
I believe it is relevant. Rather than states/cities focusing on new technologies, and increased law enforcement, we need to focus on improving peoples driving abilities
and creating safer roadways.
as I said driving should be a privilege not a right.
It should be much more difficult to be able to procure and maintain your license, than it is now. It seems that people nowadays can get away with anything, and receive a slap on the wrist.
This to me seems like a much better way to save lives, save money, and allow law enforcement to focus on more important things.
That way we dont have to rely on technology that has a tendency to fail
1) The point of the thread was technology fails.
2) These cameras have virtually no intention of making the roads safer, they are all about revenue. In Phoenix Redflex installs, administrates and profits from the cameras. A small percentage actually goes to the city in which the cameras are.
This is my main complaint as I feel the money should go towards better enforcement which will foster safety.
Finally, I asked nicely that you take your soapbox to your own thread, it's easy, at the top of the forum click new thread, type what you like for a topic, type what you like for the body of the thread, then you can say please stay on topic if someone comes into the thread and says I like pie. (assuming your thread is not about pie)
Thanks

Im sorry but I feel like I am on topic..
These systems have failed, and you are obviously concerned about if/when they may fail again.
SO why not ELIMINATE the need for these systems. Then the fear of these systems failing is gone.
Just trying to look at the larger picture, and get to the root of the problem, rather just blaming it on technology.

i see the stop light cameras go off all the time for no reason, they are all just revenue generating machines, if a city can't meet there budget they install these stupid machines...

Red light camera tickets are easy to avoid. If you get a ticket in the mail they expect you to just bend over and pay it. However, since it wasnt given to you by a peace officer or a process server you have no obligation to do so. They'll usually just drop it, as coming after you with a process server usually costs more than the ticket is worth to them.
