I love Hookah. I rarely do it, but it's tasty. I'm a big fan of Hookah Splash and Starbuzz brands.

Well mates. Perhaps a little update is needed for this thread. Does anyone have any experience with the hobohookah? It's on sale for a couple of more days.

UTK Hookah club member checkin in.

First, get a damn Funnel bowl. Or a vortex bowl. More smoke, more flavor, and it lasts much longer.

Mya Saray makes amazing hookahs. I've had my Mya for over a year now, and the finish is still awesome, and it smokes awesome.

Lemon juice+water+heat+scrubbing cleans hookahs up fast.

Get a washable hose.

Get natural coals, not instant lights, if you can. They're worth it. You can pick up a 10 dollar electric burner at walgreens to light them.

Al Fakher is my preferred brand. $10-12 dollars for 250g, nice cut, very moist. Great shit.


Do NOT use shitty instant lights. Do NOT use the bullshit screens people sell, use some heavy duty aluminum foil and poke holes in it - the smaller the better. You dont want ash on the shisha. Keep an eye on the heat, you DONT want to burn your shisha, it'll taste like ass and be harsh as hell. Sprinkle the shisha in the bowl, dont pack it tight. Dont let the shisha touch the foil, it will burn easily. It takes longer to start when you pack it like that but it preserves the flavor. So many people do this shit wrong. It's really easy.

Drink water, eat food. Empty stomach and no fluids = vomit.

Seriously, if you're into hookah, spend the money on a Mya Saray. Mine was about $140 and its a little bit bigger than two feet tall, came with a dope carrying case, disassembles easily for cleaning, and is full stainless.

If you buy a no name hookah be prepared to deal with rust, and shitty welds, and shitty quality material. I've seen it time and time again.

I've been looking a little bit for a hookah now and being somewhat on a budget to save some money for the e30. I think I'm really liking the Nammor Nile package
. I think this one comes with a little bit better of a hose and also a diffuser.

A couple of pluses for these both:
~It's not too tall so I can put it on my coffee table
~~its a good price and if you spend $100 on that site you get another cheap hookah package for free. Definitely good for the gal pal.
~good reviews and Im pretty sure I smoked a nile hookah at a party and the small mya at a bar.

I also love the al fakher Orange Irish Cream flavor. Its as smooth as mint, plentiful smoke and for some reason its delicious! If I'm buying then I would definitely get a phunnel bowl and buy some natural coals.

you really shouldn't put weed or the likes into the hookah. the resin will build up in the stem and hoses and clog them up.

Used to hookah a lot, but don't so much anymore. I got really good at packing good bowls. It really is a simple rule that I like to follow: don't put too much in! more shisha does not equal more/better smoke, quite the opposite in fact:). Too often i watch people pile the shisha on and mound it in the bowl which - Surprise, surprise! - you get an acrid burnt taste with the smoke. even in hookah bars where they tear into my wallet at $11-$14 per pipe they pack shitty bowls

yes, a little bit of the resin will build up, but certainly not enough to effectively clog the stem and CERTAINLY NOT the hose. A hookah is essentially used as a vaporizer. The coal/foil is never meant to come into contact with the shisha (or whatever else you put in there). the coal merely provides heat which vaporizes the oils and flavors in the shisha to provide a cool, flavorful hit. this is why a well-prepared hookah won't hurt when you breathe in, feels like air. Delicious, cloudy air.

Sure, I have added a little green - and i mean a LITTLE...just crumbled .2 grams or so - over the top of the shisha. This wee little bit got 4 of us good and toasted one night, WOWWEE! it was a very nice time. when i went to empty out the bowl all that was left on top was little bits of brown (NOT burnt) bits of weed, shit worked perfectly! The vaporizing action of the hookah provides enough heat to boil off the THC and other cannabinoids while leaving the plant material uncombusted. This cuts out a HUGE amount of the resin buildup within the hookah pipe VS a regular bowl. furthermore (for the hose argument) the smoke traveling through the water is filtered by the water and there is very little chance to even have buildup of resin in any part after the smoke bubbles through the water.

NOW it is my personal belief that Hookahs should be regarded as seperate from bongs and other paraphernalia. Hookahs are for shisha, that's all. I don't like to disrespect the sanctity of the hookah, if you will, by adding weed to the bowls.

This man knows his shit right here. Not letting the shisha touch the foil is the most important bit.

I like smoking weed + shisha bowls (we call them salad bowls, because they've got greens in them) but it has a big impact on flavor. Most of the time I prefer them separate unless its some really tasty bud.

Speaking of which, one of my friends managed to get some bud that tasted and smelled like raspberry lemonade. We mixed it in a vanilla Al Fakher bowl, and it tasted like raspberry cheesecake. It was awesome.

The vanilla on its own tastes identical to vanilla cupcakes.
