Was Harry S. Truman a War Crimminal?

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki, discuss.

“ We have discovered the most terrible bomb in the history of the world. It may be the fire destruction prophesied in the Euphrates Valley Era, after Noah and his fabulous Ark. ”

Apparently, Dwight D. Eisenhower would have said yes. He hated that Truman did it..

There's a few documented statements he made.

Here's a great documentary on it (it has both Democrats and Republicans in it): http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...8826421983682#

Eisenhower was a fucking army general, He could not wait to get a crack at the "japs" and show the marines how it was done. He was a ground commander and didnt like the fact that "Army" AIRFORCE got the cred and glory for bringing them to their knees that much either.

Didn't he have command over the Air Force too? From what I've read, it was the Military Industrial Complex that emerged that he hated. Listen to he's last address.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdrGKwkmxAU

Right on both accounts he was the lead allied commander in Europe. Yeah the air force answered to him but he was a ground commander, Air power was just a tool to help ground forces achieve their goals.

Yeah he did warn of "the military industrial complex" no arguments there He did not like the power that the a bomb gave the human race to be able to wipe it self out. this is IIRC my history teacher ( he was a pacific theater veteran and huge wwII buff and was still teaching in to his mid 70's)

Eisenhower was the Supreme Allied Commander but ultimately President Truman had more authority than he did.

This is exactly why Truman is a war criminal. His decision to use nuclear weapons was a crime against humanity. He is responsible for wiping out hundreds of thousands of innocent people instantaneously. Not even Hitler was this efficient at killing. If we would have lost the war, he would have been tried in a Nuremberg style trial and hanged. He is also pretty much responsible for the Cold War and thus Korea, Vietnam, etc. because of the Truman Doctrine. The man was a serious piece of shit.
