if they are going to pay for abortions, then I hope they also pay for condoms. God damn it's becoming expensive getting laid.
Also, I though sex was healthy, maybe government can pay for sex for some desperate folks as well. I think that would bring unfuckable liberals and uptight conservatives closer together.
You're a fucking idiot. Some pro-lifers may be nutcases but the pro-life viewpoint is not nutty. It makes a lot of sense actually. I just hate the pro-lifers who are so passionately against abortion but condone capital punishment and war.
I am pro-life and I condone CP ... A baby didn't make a decision to become a baby. However a murderer made a conscious CHOICE to kill some one. A murderer knew when they committed the act of murder that the consequence of that action could/would be the death penalty.

I agree to a certain extent, however with a very important caveat:
Killing is an extreme action. It can certainly be justified, but the justification has to be extreme as well. Abortion to save a mother from dying is acceptable, would you not agree, especially where birth would kill mother and child?
I also believe that the rate of false convictions (as determined by recent DNA analysis) justifies that the death penalty should be reserved for sociopathic killers. There can never be doubt with a sociopath.
In any case, killing should never be a go to solution for everything. Texas has executed more people than several states combined and they are not safer or less safe because of that. There are states that are much safer and which do not have nearly the rate of execution Texas does.
It's use as a deterrent is none. Criminals are desperate people. It should only be used when there can be no hope of rehabilitation or retribution.
i am pro-choice, as it's everyone's choice, not mine to make a decision for them. I don't understand the difficulty in that for anyone. It's pretty "socialist" to push pro-life point of view on a person, who doesn't see it that way. I am also pro-capital punishment. I'd like to see inhumane ways too. Lethal injection doesn't satisfy me. I'd like to see meat-shredders used, or some sorts of catapults.
back to the topic, this healthcare thing is still not all the way through. I understand they've voted at least 100 times and every time news scream success, but there's no substance. I'd like to know what's in those 2500 pages. Any cliffs out there?

I left a great deal of my personal opinions out of that post ... I am dead tired and maybe should have waited. That said ... yes to save a mothers life I can understand. I can even understand abortion in the case of rape although I still don't agree with it.
As for the death penalty ... it is not a deterrent b/c people have 15,000 appeal and sit on Death row for 30 years (gross exaggeration I know). Not many of the penalties we have for crimes are much of a deterrent. Stiffer and immediate penalties in open and shut cases would be a good start. IN all actuality I am more for a heavy guarded island where hardened criminals can be sent and do what they wish.

I have read this entire thread an only responded to LB's post as a way to help him see their thought process. As far as I am concerned I could care less what others do as long as it doesn't affect me or infringe on some else's rights.
I too would like to see meat shredders! LOL
I would also like to see some "cliffs" on the bill. Or just the bill in plain English, the legal jargon makes my brain hurt.
Yes the talking heads, libs and the Administration are patting them selves on the back and telling them selves "we have done it" and trying to convice all the masses its a done deal.
In reality it has a way to go, the 2 bills have to merged and a common language has to be adopted and passed again through both houses. There will be some fight left in it, but I would bet the goose is cooked and it will be shoved through and we will never know the real implications of whats in this thing till long after this crop of law makers have had their time

Speaking of socialism... there's a thread on bf.c with someone who just said "exactly" to my quoting "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" after discussing his solution to the world's ills.
It's not the end of the world yet people. The House and the Senate have merely passed preliminary bills which are both different from each other. Neither bill will be sent to the President to be signed into law. A committee will be created that will reconcile the bill, it will then be sent to both the House and Senate and then on to the President if passed by both.
EVERYBODY should be supporting the public option at this point. The Senate bill is garbage because it is a mandate to buy private insurance without any cost controls so nothing will be stopping the insurance companies from jacking up prices. With the House Bill however, there is the public option available which will compete with private insurance and keep prices down.
Flame me and call me a stupid liberal hippie all you want, piss and moan about health care reform all you want, but the truth is that a public option is the best thing at this point. It is already part of the House bill and NEEDS to be in the final bill in order to provide an affordable alternative for private insurance to compete with.

you are a stupid liberal hippie but you make our job too easy. all we have to do is let you type to prove what a fucking moron you are.
you wont even know how this effects you until its too late.
if they were giving out free bongs out at the local head shop would your type be more likely to go get one? eventually they would have to ration those bongs because all the stoner losers would be stampeding the door to get their free bongs.
same goes for your wonderful health care. wait until medical doctors make 60k a year. youll really get the best and brightest signing up for med school then. the norm seems to be punish success and drive small business out right out of business. who the fuck is going to employ your worthless ass when it makes more sense to shut the doors than to continue getting fucked by the government who pisses our money away and rewards lazy illegals and welfare slime? ive planned for the future and ill probably be ok but half of you fuckers are in your 20's and will realize far too late that youre going to have a 3rd world existence . and i would laugh at you obama loving fools except i have kids your age i care about who will also suffer
