Tis true luke Mission's are nothing like they used to be. I wanted a set for my set up, but when the time came that I had the cash they New ones were horrendously tinny to me.
So I said fuck it and went older school foundation shaking bone rattling loud, with Infinity SM152's pushed by pair of old Dennon POA 4400's for mains.
My center channel is a older mission though

Fort many years I rocked a Hafler DH500 on a pair of Mission 770s and a Hafler DH200 on a 1950 Klipschorn bass cabinet. That setup is likely why my ears are kinda fried.Comment

oh god
speaker wires are the single biggest ripoff in all of stereo/audio history
monster is fine, but the same can be said for the same gauge wire at your local ace hardware.

14 is great, and 12 gauge is big enough.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

I noticed a significant difference in low and midbass performance going from 18ga to a high strand 12ga. I would tend to agree that most "high end" cables are just excuses to show off. I've DIY'd cat5e cable that was nice but very time consuming to make. I'm currently using a belden cable(5000up) and it's good. It all depends on how long the run is though(longer runs, thicker wire). Any 14-12ga should suffice.

I highly recommend Axiom as well. I have the Epic 60 - 500 5.1 system and it's excellent for the money.check out axiom audio, http://www.axiomaudio.com/, they are fantastic speakers and priced about the same as Klipsch and B&W. I highly recommend them, I'm getting a pair of their m22 bookshelf speakers for my room, I love them!- Jerry

disclaimer: audio is as subjective as taste in womenz, and this is my opinion...
As a former home audio salesman, i hate klipsch. they are almost as bad as bose. Sure the horn is loud, but come one, it's nearly as bad as those dumb asses in monte carlo's with 12 tweets cranked all the way up and 10 18's in the trunk.
I'll take a soft dome tweeter any day:hitler:Comment
