You do realize that 45% of this country already has no federal income tax liability, correct? In other words, the bottom 45% of wage earners get all the money back they paid in over the year, or get more money back in a refund then they paid all year.

people by the masses have been coming for a long time regardless of there being water or not. People arrive in containers, on 18 wheelers, on planes (come with a visa/work permit and never return) etc... People will keep coming even if they have to walk backwards into this place. same with the idea of giving them all green cards or DL's. Make them go through the same process everyone else has to - wait in mexico for a year and a half, spend a couple grand filling paperwork, wait some more, and then fly to the other side of the country for an interview. and then MAYBE let them in. ;)

I was going to say the same thing. My friends family is here from Germany, and they had to shell out alot of cash and spend alot of time just to get green cards. There is no way that people coming here to make a better life, by which its ment they will work as fry cooks, could afford to do so. They are coming here to make $5 an hour, how are they going to afford the cost of all the shit it takes to get in legally?

I do not agree with some of the claims of Global warming, but you can bet your ass that if you only had to walk 46 miles to get into the US for a better job and more money you would think about it, but if you knew you didn't have to struggle with dehydration and not carry 46 pounds of drinking water on a rope over your shoulder I bet you would be even more likely to make the trip.

If someone was trying to escape to Mexico to avoid criminal charges/jail time and you helped to feed them and give them water you could be charged with aiding and abiding a criminal. Why should it be different the other way around?

For the record, I did not bring up race/ethnicity in my post, simply showing that there are people fueling the tide of illegal immigration into our country.

These same "artists" could have made bright paper mache billboards that say "Turn the F Around" and place them 3 miles inside US territory to get the same effect. Either way they are trying to keep people alive, but why are we putting out a welcome mat?
