what is the process/how hard is it to apply for a work visa to come over here legally?

just curious, i really don't know.. must be hard as hell.

try to figure it out without a lawyer. I dare you. Me and my wife have basically gone through the entire process, and I still don't really understand it. Some of the "help" at the NVC don't either.

i think the idea of gps enabled phones is dumb but I honestly don't care that mexicans are coming here. they do jobs no one else wants. if we don't want illegal immigration then we should legalize it, bring these people into the system so they pay taxes. I am an immigrant who came the legal way and paid my dues but that's because i had specific skills and there is a legal way for people whose skills are needed in this country to enter it and eventually become citizens. We need to have similar systems for semi-skilled jobs that these people are doing. At the very least we need a temporary worker program like Bush proposed.

BTW if businesses hiring illegal immigrants din't make a better profit than hiring legit workers, they wouldn't it. So direc you angst against these companies. And speaking of immigrant workers, don't forget the 100,000s of them that you talk to on a daily basis without knowing. When you call a US company for technical support, the call may have been answered in India, Taiwan or China. All the parts you buy are made in a third world country. Your shoes, pants etc. I would be more wary of that problem than those gardeners or burger flippers with a tan skin... Because they are jobs that have fled the country...

But hey, if Mexicans are an easy target, have your fun. But you didn't convince me yet of their danger.

I'm not mad about Mexicans being here and taking jobs that nobody else will do, for less money. Mexicans are hard workers and highly devoted to their families, among other qualities (what would life be like without mexican food? tea and crumpets anyone?). What I'm mad about is giving them a free pass and fucking over the people who are trying to come here legally (mexican or not). They're here illegally, the only rights they have are the basic ones that we won't kill or torture them, but they have no right to be here or stay.

as I said, they need to make it easier to come here legally, because currently it's a huge nightmare, and it costs a lot of money. Thus most people from mexico aren't going to try to go through the system when there are hippies on the other side who are willing to give them a free pass. I'm certain my wife has been harrassed more at the borders than any of the illegals here have been. There's nobody on the other side willing to give her free food and water, a job, and a drivers license either.

I agree. So again, talk to your government. They are they ones giving citizenship to the calves while the San Diego hippies are just trying to help them stay hydrated.
