Brave new world is the better book... but 1984 is interesting too.

About half way through Hoffa's Man. It's a biography/autobiography on Joe Franco, Jimmy Hoffa's number 2 man. Interesting stuff reading about a lot of the shit they did back in the day.

oui! Both Silmarillion and The Book of Lost Tales were very 'encyclopedia-like' indeed. Crazy amount of backdrop/history – spanning centuries – for LOTR??

read last fall. Melville goes into enormous detail - it's like educational/historical fiction. Could never get over how the book is 160 year old and contains so many truisms that hold true to this day. Very enjoyable. This is one of those books I wanted to read “before I die” – and I’m glad I did.
