About half way through Hoffa's Man. It's a biography/autobiography on Joe Franco, Jimmy Hoffa's number 2 man. Interesting stuff reading about a lot of the shit they did back in the day.Comment

oui! Both Silmarillion and The Book of Lost Tales were very 'encyclopedia-like' indeed. Crazy amount of backdrop/history – spanning centuries – for LOTR??Originally posted by skateimitationSilmarillion

read last fall. Melville goes into enormous detail - it's like educational/historical fiction. Could never get over how the book is 160 year old and contains so many truisms that hold true to this day. Very enjoyable. This is one of those books I wanted to read “before I die” – and I’m glad I did.Originally posted by b*saintMoby Dick

Strong recommendations for Tom Robbins books – namely Jitterbug Perfume and Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates. Robbins has an extraordinary vocabulary and an amazing way with words.Comment
