    I dont see how people can hate e34s so much and love late model e30s? The average bimbo at first glance could hardly tell the difference unless reading the badge on the trunk.

        The majority of RKC members drive domestics. I'm pretty sure more than a dozen of them have 800+ rwhp cars. I don't think many of them have "fartcans on hondas and sentras", but hey, in a site of over 10,000 members, there are bound to be a few.

          Most people think old school beamers are ugly and the same in general.

          For some reason, I hated all old bmws except for the e30 originally. Being in this scene for a while they have all grown on me, even the e36. Unfortunately, none of them are downright good looking cars. They just have a classic charm.

            I don't think anyone here "hates" e34s. Hell, I've posted at least 3 times on here today that I like the e34 M5. I just think they're ugly. Based on the e34 I've driven, I can assume that they handle very well, are comfortable, fun to drive. I know they sound amazing, and I think the S38 is a great engine. Overall it's a very nice car. But...."sexy as hell"???? That's a stretch.

              The guy with the Z32 300ZX must harbour fantasties about driving around with an open Hawaiian shirt on, cheap gold chains showing and some White Snake blasting from the stereo looking for school girls and dreaming that you're actually driving a Ferrari 348 or Testarossa... or a '79 Corvette.

              The engine bay is one of the most retarded things about the Z32 TT - which fucking window-licker laid that thing out? Its almost impossible to work on without busting your hands into broken, bloody stumps.

              Overly complicated, too heavy, dated and platicy design to woo 14 year-old Japanese school boys, floppy chassis... gee what a car to look up to. Why people buy these things or Mk3 Supras today mystifies me. The best thing about a Z32 is its track-width. They should have made the GT-R that wide. You're still left with an uncoordinated, ugly, overweight, overcomplicated pile of stale sushi.

                You got me! I actually have a very large collection of tacky Hawaiian shirts which I often sport while driving around in the summer. No lie. But I don't like the 348 or the 79 Corvette, and I've been with my GF for 4+ years, so the rest of your assessment I respectfully disagree with.

                This is the only thing I hate about my Z. I think they designed it that way so that people would have to get their cars serviced at dealerships.

                They are overly complicated, I'll give you that. The HICAS system from the earlier year z32s was a POS design. The engine bay is a giant clusterfuck. The dashboard electronics are at best a bit confusing at first.
                But heavy?
                They only weigh about 3400lbs. Perspectively, you're right, they are 700lbs heavier than an e30. Still, 3400lbs is around the same as an MK IV Supra, a Dodge Viper, or a C6 Corvette. Chassis isn't "floppy" either.

                    1500kg isn't a lot for a sedan, but for a car with the footprint of the Zed its heavy. A Viper and JZA80 Supra (Mk4) are heavy cars too, compared to a Skyline, RX7, etc. The worst thing about the Z32's weight is where it is - quite a bit of it is up high, which is the worst place for it.

                    The chassis definitely is soft - to get them handling halfway decently you need to revise spring/damper rates and start adding much better arms and floor/subframe braces. Ditching HICAS is all part of that, too.

                    Overheating is another great party trick for the Zed.

                      1) The base model skyline is lightweight, but the desireable GTR is not. The older versions (R32 and R33) weigh about the same as a z32, and the newer versions (R34 and R35) are a good bit heavier.

                      2) Z32's weight up high? Take the T-tops off. That shaves more than 20lbs off the top of the car. The hood is very lightweight. I just don't see how a car that sits so low can have most of its weight up high?? It's not like it's a Landcruiser or something.

                      3)They handle better than "decently" in stock form. A set of stillen sway bars is all you need to get them to handle very well. One of the most recognized qualities of the z32 twin turbo is the good handling characteristics--especially the high speed handling.

                      4) Keep up with the 60k tuneup and purchase a high performance radiator, like I did, and you shouldn't ever have an overheating problem. Unless you track your car on a regular basis, in which case a larger oil cooler and a different oil cooler regulator valve setup is a good investment.
