Cutting or doing yard work after 1:30PM
Birds nest in the tree in my front lawn
Washing my car
use of air tools in my own garage
Not picking up that paper that the dumb ass guy in the weighed down van keeps throwing over everyones lawn. If I were a cop I'd ticket the shit out of him.

Drinking in view of my neighbors (I had a beer in my garage during the NFL championships)
Suspicious activity (I've had too many different cars in my driveway)
Everyones favorite, not putting the trash can back after 11AM. How the fuck do you expect anybody that has a full time job to do this?

and last but not least, HAVING THE WINDOWS OPEN ON MY HOUSE. <-$150 fine.

With all that being said, yes they can foreclose on your home and kick you the fuck out.Depending on the HOA they might be nice and give you 3 months to move which was my case.
I now live in a garaged apartment. Life couldn't be easier. No stupid ass associations, and no dumb ass neighbors complaining about shit. Off topic but this topic has me so heated, I just have to share this one.
Last summer before me and my lady got kicked out, my neighbor came over with his handgun telling me I need to stop leaving my house so late and early(02 camaro ss with borla true duals. "I'm sick of hearing your car when me and my wife are trying to sleep. I've called the cops but your ass is lucky they wont do anythiing about it so I might have to". Lol my fiancee called the cops on his ass so fast. He was ticketed and then fined by the HOA which he was a member of.

I used to hate the HOA. I still don't like them, but they don't bother me anymore.

The one neighbor that complained the most about us put in a fence, pool, screened in porch, and fugly hurricane shutters without HOA approval. We used that to our advantage when the HOA president stopped by for a chat about me working on my car in the driveway one sunny weekend. That neighbor got a nice letter back when the HOA still tried to do anything when someone complained about someone else.

Other than that, the HOA has pretty much lost power in this development. They have a hard time getting anyone to fill the board of director positions. Nobody wants to deal with the people that constantly complain about everything that doesn't concern themselves.

In TX a couple of years ago, in the DFW area, there was a case of a Neighborhood Homeowners Association telling a local man that he could not park his new Ford pickup truck in plain sight.

Why?
Because Ford was a brand that was "unbecoming of their neighboorhood"
They told him he could keep a Toyota truck outside, but he would have to park his Ford in his garage.

We live in a HOA, we are the only mexican, who am i kidding only my dad is and i am beyond whitewashed, every one of our neighbors is white, and once you go down the street where there are mexicans and renters-the area is total shit. There are always cops down the street and crime and graffiti from the young wannabe thug gangbangers.
I was washing the engine bay one time and a woman from the HOA walked up saying i wasnt allowed to work on cars in the driveway, although i did an engine swap in the driveway i dont really care. Ive also gotten told that i was using loud power tools even though i dont own any....stupid neighbors.
