I agree with you all, There are so many molested E30's in Australia. I seeing one in the distance and speed up and then when I catch up to find it has ugly dinner plate chromies or any other form of stupid modification.

It's not just BMW, 99% of modified cars in Australia are in the tasteless show car style. No one here has a clue about performance, handling and balance. It's all about how many inches your dinner plates are and how many subs you can fit in the boot.

On the odd chance that someone actually modified their car for performance it's generally for Dyno shootouts and bragging rights, the power is never used and the suspension and brakes are rarely upgraded to match.

Very few people have any taste and those that do generally track their cars on a regular basis whether it be circuit, drift, rallies or hill-climbs.

I call horseshit on the claim 99% of people modifying cars in Australia do dumb, tacky shit. Have a good look around the various modified car subcultures and you'll see there is a huge number of well modified, tasteful and fucking fast cars out there. The beauty of them is often they're so subtle they almost blend in.
