But, my avatar is me. I am a 7 foot tall white lunkhead with a penchant for Tastykakes.

heh, well BMWs attract a lot of the hard parking crowd for sure. Everyone talks about handling and performance, but out of all the E30s we have in the PNW, guess how many guys have actualy shown up to the track, autox or even drag strip.. :p

nothing wrong with a street car of course. just don't pretend..

    Prestigious? Nah.

They are cool in that they don't look like new cars though, which makes them somewhat unique compared to Civics or 240s.

You have a neat project but I doubt you'll garnish any BMW love from enthusiasts that matter in the industry other than "Holy shit that things fast" or "Nice job man", not that you're fishing for compliments and props. At the end of the day, you could have done that to any car, but the fact that you did it to an E30 after all the work and money and time spent, c'mon. Prestige exists, at whatever level. Admit it.

I don't know you personally, but you seem to be a pretty legit dude by your posts. I was just being a dick. :)
    you should vote

Should we also discuss the surroundings in which e30 may appear prestigious? At the BMW dealership or college campus? In my $500 apartments my car is very prestigious...

Did you know in the mid 1980's, Dodge had cars that talked to you and also had OBC's like that of BMW's. Also had standard heated mirrors, plus options like power windows, digital dash, and some other comforts. So no, these cars are not even ahead of their time.
