    PT Cruiser

I rented one of these in Seattle yesterday.
    Holy mother of god.
It might have been the worst car I've ever driven. There is NOTHING good to say about it.
We should have let Chrysler fail.

rented one in chicago. it was the 2.4l turbo.

i thought 2.4 liters of turbo would give it some go power.

    i was wrong.

it is indeed quite a horrible car.

A coworker got one as a loaner when his car was in the shop. He tried to sneak park it at work to hide it but we found out, that thing was the biggest pile of shit I have ever been in that wasn't falling apart from age.

The PT Cruiser was the brainchild of.. focus groups. The goal was to make a car that breath the american spirit. It was supposed to be a car with strong identity. A car that would be easily identified, in a sea of blend vehicules. Yup. That's what people wanted and designed. Chrysler ended up with another "Homer mobile".

Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

My 35 year old highschool principle drove one from what I remember.
Nobody liked him. And that was before they knew what he drove.

there are tons and tons of appliance cars out there that are 100x better than the pt cruiser. it is the definition of a thrashy, plastic shitbox.

The PT Cruiser has the floorpan and suspension of the 2000 Neon, which was a lousy car. Back in 1999 I was commissioned to create the Canadian advertizing campaign. I was handed the keys of a Neon for a few weeks so that I can test "how good the car was". The car stayed in the agency's basement until I came up with all the concepts and executions. I wanted to keep my illusions about how great the Neon 2000 was supposed to be... Was I glad I did it this way. After I approved the mock-ups and boards, I drove the car. Ouch. Very, very bad car. Even my GF who knew yadda about cars found the thing sucked big time.

Sadly, my concepts were quite good as Chrysler sold a lot of Neon 2000 in Canada. I apologize for that... The PT Cruiser couldn't be any better than the Neon, plus the ugly looks.
