The real reason is the same in many other industrial countries, it is that people just don't want to make babies. They prioritize their carreer, so, babies take second seat. Therefore, if Americans don't make babies, then "Camel Jockeys" will do it for them. The future is in the American poeoples' hands. Decide between having fun and party, or be serious and raise at least two kids. Don't blame others for your mistakes. So, abortion is not the problem in this case.

And don't worry. I don't defend, nor I condone abortion. It's an individual painfull decision. Abortion is NOT birth control. It's a last measure. A sad one at that. But sometimes necessary.
Not really. The average number of kids per family is still above 2, but just barely . Basically, Americans are at the "replacement" rate. One little poop factory per person. This is overall good, in my opinion.

The third world nations, the ones that culturally are still in the dark ages, yet have gained modern technology, are still on a 8-1 rate where we are on a 1-1 rate. It's a cultural thing. They think they need all those little ones to insure their retirement, expecting only 2 or 3 actually survive that long. But, because of technology, many of them are surviving long enough to reproduce, a much higher percentage than before. The results, over population. The result of that: ship em out to the land of the great fast food restaurant.

People here still want kids, for the most part. They just normally don't want 4 or 5. Those that do choose to have three or more are just making up for the few who chose not to, or can't.

Culturally, is that putting we western nations at risk? Yes, and no. If immigrants absorb into society and accept their new culture, then no, it isn't a problem. If, however, they do not absorb, they just carry on their own culture in their new home, AND they can extend that out for multiple generations, then yes, it is a problem. We'll be going backwards rather than forwards.

So, I'm actually not too worried about that since after one or two generations, generally people adapt to the new, local culture.

What bothers me is the over population in the first place. The world already has too many people. We need to look at ways to slow population growth down, or to have population reduction (without nuking the middle east or India). Over population is the greatest threat to our planet, no matter what the climate alarmists say.

All time high in terms of number of abortions was in 1985 (about 1.6million) and has since declined to a current 1.25 million.

There are other reasons for the decline in population.

    Morbid obesity
"In the United States obesity is estimated to cause an excessof 365,000 deaths per year"

And here are the tables of birth rates across the world.

It's a part of it, but just part of the larger overall trend for developed nations (most suffer from low birthrates currently).

    worldwide rates, fyi:

The overall abortion rate declined between 1995 and
2003. This is largely due to reductions in levels of safe
    abortions, particularly in Eastern Europe.

--The number of abortions worldwide fell from an estimated
45.5 million in 1995 to 41.6 million in 2003. The estimated
number of unsafe abortions changed little during
    this period—from 19.9 million to 19.7 million—and
almost all occurred in developing countries.

--The rate of safe abortions dropped between 1995 and
    2003 from 20 to 15 per 1,000 women aged 15–44, while
the unsafe abortion rate declined hardly at all—from 15
to 14 per 1,000. The overall abortion rate declined from
    35 to 29 per 1,000.

That really isn't my main problem with abortion, but I remember my old man telling me when the Roe vs Wade thing all went down that this was the beginning of the end in America. 20 years later I now see what he was saying.

Once our troops were already in Iraq and Afghanistan, the house and senate approved for additional funding, because refusing to do so would have been "unamerican", however Bush did not hold a vote in the first place.
Ummmmmmm. The POTUS is known as the commander and chief for a reason. He has the power to send and use the military as he sees fit without consulting the houses of congress. But to declare war that another matter, the declaration of war is the congress's job.

There is a little civics lesson for you

Come on man this is basic 5th grade Social Studies here, or dont they teach this shit any more ??????????
