    volcano bs

So when can I fly to europe? News says airports open back up in a day but they said it depends on the volcano. what the hell does that mean? Apparently it hasnt stopped pluming so I dont see my trip continuing anytime this week.
anyone with a scoop on this?

News agencies reporting not much changing for the next 48 hours - a "watch and wait" period to see if things improve. All of northern Europe is more or less shut down. Buses, trains & ferry service are at capacity, but at least they are running. As far as flying options go, Italy, southern Spain and Portugal have air service - very busy but opened and operating.

This link has a news story including video from BBC News...
The Lede is following the progress of the cloud of volcanic ash that has disrupted air travel across Europe.

This link is rather cool - not sure how frequently it is updated but it shows the air traffic taking place...

The F1 guys in China are concerned about getting home after tomorrows' race. Next event is in Spain in 3 weeks.

          should have taken a train.

train network in europe is very extensive.

Yes, but, it can take upwards of an entire 24 hrs to get from Spain to the Netherlands. Not every train system is ultra-reliable and super fast like zee Tchermannz. Pff, I would never have ridden a train through Spain. It would be late as fuck.

Plus, how are you supposed to plan a trip around a random volcano eruption that you had no idea was coming?
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
            Mark: "You never will."

All the trains and rental cars were sold out. I am glad we got out when we did. They said it was a 26hr train ride or a 30hr drive. We even tried to get a limo and they wanted 1500 euros!
