Why are you blaming the govt for an accident. We should by all means be drilling anywhere we can get the resource in our own territorial waters. Its not the govt fault there was a accident, its not the govts fault maybe safety percussion's were not adhered too. Some of the largest deposts of oil are in deep water, and to go get it we have to develop the tech to do so. The only way to do that is to do it.
To blame this on the govt (as much as I hate what our govt is up too) is like blaming your fork for making you fat.
There is plenty you can blame the govt for though, like making bigger deal to "HOLD BP"S FEET TO THE FIRE" to make sure they PAY, rather than having the necessary supplies, and contingencies in place for this that is REQUIRED OF THE GOVT BY ITS OWN LAWS. Or the grandstanding about how bad this is for the Environment will not doing a damm thing to keep the shit from coming ashore and the EPA dragging its feet about the environmental impact of Dispersant s and Sand berms to keep the shit outta the marshes. Like Jindal wanted to build, but was told he would go to prison if he ordered these actions by the FUCKING FEDS.
