    3.73 diff, engine is a M30.
    Ok,,,

My BT is 3.15 ,, and similair ratio in 5th.. i can get 320 at fullblast thats 291-293 km GPS

on 300 the GPS is showing 279 km/h... and that is very fast ,,belive me

    ok lets convert it to mph 1.609 x 180mph = 289.620 km/h

to be honest i am not sure your engine and gearbox .. 6400rpm x 0.8x in 5th can make such a speed ,,

for sure the output can throw you there,, also is the E30 like a brick on cw maths

E34 S38 with 7200 rpm and similair 5th having 3.91 as diffratio is good for 26x km/h in real speed ,, that is around 165 mph MAX

I did the math on the previous page, he claimed 7000rpm in 5th which equates to almost exactly 180mph. I do not think there is a question whether or not a drag-limited 500whp E30 can hit 180. Sure it is a brick, but 500whp is 500whp.

Also note he has much taller rear tires which effectively lowers the final drive. A 235/60R15 and a 3.73 is effectively the same as a 195/65R14 (stock diameter) and a 3.42 rear end (26.1" rolling diameter vs. 24").

180mph, whats the limit there, 55?

        125mph over the limit?

Amazing the difference between OG and noob and whats acceptable on r3v

        Just an observation

Cool car, not so cool stylez imo

A little street race with nobody around is one thing.

180mph in an e30 with enough cars around that you have to use the shoulder to avoid smashing into them is another.

That's all anyone is saying. And anyone saying this type of driving is OK is a fucking idiot. Even the OP admitted it was stupid.

Actually after the swap I did 150 (windows up) and it felt quite solid. Of course I had just spent the last few months replacing basically everything between the unibody and the ground (and with either OEM or uprated parts).

Being said, doing it on a public road is epically stupid because you have no idea how fast shit comes up at that speed. If anything were to happen (a blowout) there isnt a god damned thing you are going to do about it and E30s were not built to hit hard things at those speeds like F1 cars are.
                Im now E30less.

I don't recall anyone in this thread saying they never pushed their car a little on a public road. I believe most people are saying 180 in an e30 with other cars around is fucking retarded, as the OP has already admitted. Then there are a few people trying to say this guy deserves respect, etc... and those would be the dumbasses.

My car runs out of gear at 198 w/ a 4.10, heh.

Good and Tight, you've always reminded me of Kenny on turbobricks. That guy has always pushed the limits of what their cars can do. I think that he was over 500hp with 740.

He wasn't even racing but still managed to flip his car like 15 times. He and his passenger are alive, but the car is a total loss.

                      Stay safe, buddy.

I did 135 in my M50 car, and 180mph in a SRT-10 viper... I couldn't imagine doing 180 in my E30, shit felt like it was going to rip a hole in the fabric of time.

                          "What an idiot."

What the hell else is he going to do with 500 hp?!? What else?

Great job, G&T. Mission accomplished, everyone came home safe.

I'm speechless after reading this thread. You mean to tell me that E30 window mouldings actually survived 180mph?!?!?!

Whoever built this car is a witch. Only possible explanation.
