Picpoul is a French table white wine for $10 that is supposed to be perfect. I've heard it is much better than its price given. They have been back ordered here for 7 weeks now.

Give Dr Konstantin Frank wines a go. My favorite wine from the Finger Lakes.

Nothing wrong with cheap wines. They get a bad rap for no good reason. I've had expensive wines that were terrible. It's all personal opinion.
I can't drink wine anymore sadly.

Grew up with my dad doing wine. Porteus is a great wine, their syrah is amazing, and Five Star Cellars is another great wine. Both aren't very cheap and I'm sure not very easy to find on the east coast, but great people. Hopefully another few years and my dad's planning on opening a winery in Walla Walla as a retirement project.

Use to be, Still enjoy it but not as much as I use to be, if you think you are going to get serious check out cellartracker.com. Great site for tasting notes and if you going to cellar wine start using it now.

Love Spanish reds and small wineries out of Washington state. Cheap wine finds are great but try a bottle of quelceda creek cab and it will mess up your taste buds for ever.

+1. Head up to the wineries in Amador and El Dorado counties in the foothills east of Sac. No charge tasting rooms FTW.

+1 for Stags Leap. I also forgot to mention that the Cab franc from Shelton (where Vintage at the Vineyard was held) is very good.

Exactly! I take my Aunt to the "local" vineyards around here when she comes up from CA for Christmas. She loves the whole setting, atmosphere and awesome wine we have to offer.
