My best friend from high school owns a trailblazer ss. It's pretty fast, but I would recommend not getting one. They're just not that nice, insurance sucks ass, eat gas and they don't look that good. The SRT looks better, and if I remember correctly they are faster. But, after a bad experience with the XJ I owned, I have vowed never to own another gasoline powered Mopar.

SRT8 LOOKS better, but the SS is probably a better all around truck. I agree with chrysler junk, my 04 grand cherokee isn't the best. Older Jeep's are rock solid though.

The SS has the LS2, which is a bulletproof, excellent foundation for modding and lots-o-hp.

    SS gets my vote

Something diesel would be awesome, but we don't have a ton of choices for those (X5, Touareg, etc).

Yes definitely something diesel, like Jon said an X5, Touareg or if you want to go lavish then a GL450 Bluetech.

The Jeep is far more capable than that Trailblazer, and far less ugly IMO.

I'm not sure what he's saying, but he's so fucking right!
    /thread.

No but seriously, I've always been a GM guy. But damn I love anything SRT-8... Chrysler has been putting out some awesome new vehicles. However, I have heard that the interior quality in new Chryslers is quite bland and cheap feeling. I think for looks, definitely the Cherokee. But if new Chevys are anything like my dad's '97 Tahoe with almost 300k on the clock and still running strong, I'd definitely say go for a new Trailblazer or Yukon/Tahoe.
