Looking to buy a pair of work boots for general stuff, im going to be working in a autoshop. Just trying to hear some feedback before i go and drop cash on work boots$$$
Redback. I wore them 6 days a week, 12+ hours a day, and didn't feel the need to take them off the second I got home. Matco truck's usually sell/order them.

I have these in both Steeltoe, and non steeltoe. REDBACK USBBK
'The Easy EscapeTM $149. I also wore them through winter in the snow, all winter. Didn't use any other boots and got by very comfortably. Keep in mind their sizing is not US, and they even have huge sizes.
I wear Whites, 12-16 hours days trekking up and down pipeline right of ways out in the mountains 6-7 days a week. Its all I really wear even to town or just kicking around the house at home when I have time off, its like wearing heavy, slippers all day once you get them broken in. Nice thing is when they wear out you send them in for a rebuild for about the cost of pair of redwings. I used to get about a season of work (7-9 months) outta a pair of redwings, with the Whites I get a good 2 years+ outta them before a rebuild. Whites are the last boot you will ever buy. I have tried all the big names over the years and Whites by far are in a league of their own with quality comfort and longevity, and I put boots through hell.
I always bought the basic steel toe boots form K-Mart growing up. I had a buddy talk Redwings up and he had the logger ones which look cool so I figured I would try.
I didn't get those ones, but I did get custom fitted and settled in on the 2206. I hated them after 2 hrs. They just made my feet hurt. I thought they were too small an gave them to a friend who is a 1/2 size smaller than me and he hated them too.
The cheapies work for me. I've bought both type depending on what I needed.

I have a few brand new pairs of Worx/Redwing steel toe work shoes (not boots) for sale...$50 a pair. They look like tennis shoes and almost as comfortable too. Let me know if you want me to take some pictures.
Good boots you have to break in, and that can take a few days to a week or more. Mine take a good week and 1/2 just a couple of hours at night around the house till they break in enough to stand to wear all day.
The easiest trick to break in, is pour a 1/2 a bottle of rubbing Alcohol, into a bucket of warm water. put your boots on, stand in the bucket till your feet are soaked, (IE the leather is soaked all the way through) then WEAR THEM TILL THEY ARE 100% dry (basically all day). Then they will be formed and fitted to your foot. If you take them off before they dry, well lets just say thats something you dont want to do. Once they are dry oil them up with a good boot grease. Not the Silicone shit either.
