If he does end up buying a new car, it'll be a E24. I don't like the E23s and don't see a need for it.

I want a comfy, 2 door highway cruiser, and the E24 seems perfect for that.

      why stay limited in bmw's?

ford crown vitoria's are awesome cruisers, and will haul ass with minimal upgrades, and if its white with blacked out windows everyone gets the fuck out of your way. lol not to mention mods/maint. is about a 1/3 of what a BMW is $$ wise.

Ok, I know of a few e24s here that look absolutely amazing, the only problem I have with them is that they are so hard to find in 5 speeds they are always autos.

mines 5 speed, and the only other 2 in my area are both 5 speed. Plus a swap is stupid easy since most everything from an e28 will swap over i believe.

i could be very wrong on that tho

E24's are the business. My dad drooled over them for over 25 years but never got one because he had kids and family came first. Then about 10 years ago he found the perfect 6 for him and bought it.

We will keep this car in the family probably forever. It'd be impossible to let it go. Lots of good memories. I could care less that it is automatic, it runs great. The only thing not working is the A/C and I just don't want to spend $2k to get it working right now.

That being said, they are definitely alot more costly than an E30. This car had SLS (11/88 build), and he replaced the shocks years ago and it wasn't cheap. Eventually we just put in Bilstein Sports and BavAuto springs and it couldn't be better.

If you want a great cruiser, and yeah it isn't a coupe but E34's are incredible to drive everyday. I don't think an E24 makes a good daily anymore due to the rarity factor, and poor mileage.
