Dude, I'm so far out in the sticks it's not funny. Six houses down from me they can't even subscribe to 7mb DSL because of distance from CO, they only get 1.5m. It's copper pair issue, and they are not upgrading out here within the next 5 years. For reference, I live on a two mile long section of road with maybe 40 houses on it. We are outside of city limits, and are not the priority to them.

Yeah, it kinda sounds daunting, I want to buy something, take it out of the box and set it up.

Farb I feel for you, where I lived in MI Dial up was the only option and was not due for, HS conection for a long time. And we lived 2 miles from the manin Interstate and between 2 major cities that were only 20 mins away.

Out to home we have a great cable conection, and here in IA on a Long range WiFi that has a effective DL of .7xish and Up of .4xish Mb/s

^The services differ with each provider. Try WildBlue. I think their cap is 12 gig a month. That's more than the average user does.

Farbin. When is it that the 7 MB is not enough for you? Don't tell me you need 7 to surf forums.

I use way more than 12GB a month not including torrents.

I'm not trying to sound like an asshole, but I don't understand how someone can move to the puckerbrush and then bitch at Qworst for not giving them the speed they think they need.... Now my question is, why aren't you yelling at the cable company for not giving you service???? They get a franchise from the city and or county and get to pick and choose who they provide service to, Qworst has to provide pots, which is suppose to pass 300 baud, and they have to provide 911 service. If you want a highspeed connection you have choices, you can pay for a T1, which is billed by the mile from the serving CO, or you can go satelite, which last time I checked, is about 768 megs, for about 100 bucks a month with latency that makes grass growing look fast.. As for the lady you harrassed on the chat, she was probably a sales person who was told you either work here on the chat boards or you get layed off, either way, you are expecting alot from her. Why didn't you just go to the support chat? Put yourself in her shoes, she might have a family to support and dealing with you just made her day. You already had an answer from someone else, why be an ass to her. I am not sticking up for Qworst, the management of that company sucks like you wouldn't believe, but the peon workers are just like you and I, and they deserve a break... Next time, why don't you ask for a manager and lay into them? Which brings me to the question, what do you do for a living? and would you like to be treatted like you treated her? And why are you posting this on a E30 board? last time I looked, none of my E30's had an internet connection.... Sorry, I build highspeed connections, anything from T1 up to an OC192, and everything in between, such as the 10 gig backbones for all you major carriers, so it really hits a nerve when someone who doesn't know what there doing puts down someone who is reading from a script, and gets in trouble when they deviate.
Just my 2 cents worth, as I said, I'll probably sound like an ass, but a little bit of understanding comes with age, look back in ten years and see if you feel the same way you do now.

OK paragraph man, Nearest Cable service is 15 miles away, so that would be a
moot point. Furthermore, it's not the service I desired/expected, but the one
I was informed I would have access to within 6 months, which is what made
my decision on whom to purchase a service from. They lied.

Two, you don't know me, that was not harassment. I was asking questions,
that if I'm paying $60/mo I expect answered, I was asking via the Tech
Support link on their site, not my fault if they routed it otherwise.

C, Just because your e30 does not have an internet connection, there is no
bearing on my asking questions in an Off-Topic subforum.

My asking for customer support in no way means I don't know what I'm doing.
It means I'm a customer, expecting to be serviced.

I'm sure your age is a valued tool for you, that's great you think you are old.

And finally, why would you waste your time making that ranty post, if you know so much,
