new trend in the american car companies

I think that American big three have finally gotten their wits together, by selling their euro market cars, re-badged in Americas. Frankly, I actually would drive some of these cars. What do you guys think about these companies rebadging their euro marques and selling them in the states? will they appeal to the american public?
    A few for examples:

^yes even though both these brands are defunct, they were the first of their kind^

1991 BMW 318i (Old Shell RIP, Now Being Re-shelled & Reborn)
    1983 Peugeot 505 STI
    1992 Volvo 240 Wagon
    2009 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Sport 4WD

I've noticed a TON of Ford Transits in Oregon lately. Fuel economy and storage capability... what a concept!

I love the transit and the green Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta scored really high on Top Gear(Season 12). I would own one hands down with no shame. Cool looking, sporty and great on gas.

The CTS isn't bad, nor is the new Equinox. Camaro shares Euro bits but you can't see out of the damn thing. I think we as Americans are starting to catch on to European cars now that we can't all afford Tahoe's and Excursions.

I love the Transit because I can fit a motorcycle in the back. That alone is ftw.

New Buick can suck a dick, I'll buy BMW for a little more and save myself the embarrassment of driving a Buick/Government Motors vehicle.
Ford Fiesta is semi-win. I still hate Ford for not giving us a Focus RS. So on the whole, fuck 'em.
Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky is dead (not to mention, butt-ugly).
Pontiac G8. Dead. It was never really a "smart euro counterpart", the Aussies just know how to design a cool fucking car.

I'm really tired of American cars tbth. They produce nice TRUCKS. REAL trucks. Diesel power is the only thing that would make me consider buying American (and they don't even design/produce those engines!).

It is a safe bet to say that I will NEVER buy an American car unless it is something out of the norm. I'd consider a new Corvette and a handful of other cars. As far as cookie cutter commuters? I'll stick to Honda and Toyota.

While design has improved, build quality sucks still. Look at a 2 year old G8 (if you can find any), sky/solstice, saturn aura, focus, or any euro inspired car and they look like a 5 year old Korean car. Its the Koreans everyone needs to watch out for, the Sonata price wise and option wise kills the altima/accord/camry/malibu/fusion. I've lost 2 car deals this month on the Sonata.

the buick interiors are one of the nicest out of any car on the market. and i am not a fan of the buick's old people cars but they have some really freaking nice cars in their lineup.

I valet so I've driven most of these cars. In my opinion some of the american cars have come a long way, the new taurus and that buick from up above. Even the fusion isn't a bad car. They are MUCH better than the american cars from before. But combine the stereotype with the better feel of most of the import cars and most of the american cars just aren't there.

The real debate is 3 series vs. g35.

G35 is clearly designed for the "metro" market

g35 sounds better. Drives like 80% as well. And costs so much less. Interiors are nice, too.
