Dodge Sprinters are rebadged Mercedes. How did those sell in the US?
I have this as a DD, does like 40mpg, has done over 230,000 miles in ten years and I can fit an ATV in the back.

For light duty, they max out shy of 1400 lbs of capacity. Big three have been rebadging cars for years it's nothing new, I doubt you can remember the Chevy Luv pick up of the 70's it was an Isuzi truck. Then there was the Geo Prism that was a Toyota Corolla then something else.

They really are getting their shit together...I would drive this no question:

Ford's unveiled a fully-upgraded 2012 Mustang Boss 302 with a revised-intake 5.0-liter V8 delivering 440 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, upgraded clutch, brakes, adjustable suspension, bitchin' side pipes and race-inspired interior. Very boss, indeed.

Its got 4-pot brembos all around, adjustable suspension, 5.0 w/ ITBs and Recaros...so SICK!

That Buick is pretty hot actually. I'd drive the fuck out of it.

Weren't they talking about releasing a beefed up one with Brembo's and stuff?

This is true. Not to mention the fact that companies like Ford, at one time, had extensive overseas operations. We would have seen quite a few rebadged imports decades ago if not for the chagrin upper management had for them. Even if they had made it over, Americans most likely would not have accepted them as easily as they do today.

The Opel Insignia a.k.a Buick (which make it sound much less of a car in my ears) is beautiful! My friend has the Insignia wagon, in white, lowered with some 19", and it is one of the best looking new cars around!

see my earlier post about rebadged vehicles. To a point I agree, americans are getting a little more accepting to vehicles that are different from years past, But I think the F150 is still the best vehicle in USA IIRC

New Buick can suck a dick, I'll buy BMW for a little more and save myself the embarrassment of driving a Buick/Government Motors vehicle.
Ford Fiesta is semi-win. I still hate Ford for not giving us a Focus RS. So on the whole, fuck 'em.
Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky is dead (not to mention, butt-ugly).
Pontiac G8. Dead. It was never really a "smart euro counterpart", the Aussies just know how to design a cool fucking car.

I'm really tired of American cars tbth. They produce nice TRUCKS. REAL trucks. Diesel power is the only thing that would make me consider buying American (and they don't even design/produce those engines!).

It is a safe bet to say that I will NEVER buy an American car unless it is something out of the norm. I'd consider a new Corvette and a handful of other cars. As far as cookie cutter commuters? I'll stick to Honda and Toyota.
I work for Ford. the euro focus is coming! wait for it. mid to late 2011
