    HTML Editor

Anyone know of an easy to use HTML editor than I can download for free from somewhere?

I was just told I'm taking over responsibilities of managing some of our companies sites, and I have little to no knowledge of editing.

Try Joomla it has lots of templates, and not terribly hard to figure out.

HTML is text. Use a text editor.

Examples include: (Windows) Notepad++, PSPad, Dreamweaver, (Mac) Coda, TextMate, TextWrangler

      (NOT MICROSOFT WORD)

Joomla is... not an editor. It's a Content Management System.

Notepad++. Gonna require that you learn something about HTML though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have no objection to learning, I'm sure I can pick up the basics pretty quick. I was just looking for an editor that would be easy to use, so that if changes need to be made to our sites before I'm up to speed, I can do it without much delay.

                    Curious why

                    a) why your company is not tasking someone with the correct skill set
                    b) why your company is not willing to pay for software

FWIW, I like Dreamweaver. Get the trial from Adobe and see if you like it.

What if he didnt use notepad? What if he used a wysiwyg editor that has the html writen next to it. So when he doesnt something on the gui he sees whats going on on the html. I think you learn what you can actually do with html rather than be limited by a few commands you learn from some online html course to make a website.
