I have no idea what they did to cause it, but my guess is that someone made a mistake that caused a fire or explosion. I'm just saying that the oil industry seems to be fucking up a lot lately, considering the consequences I think it might be good if they were a bit more careful. If they have no good plan to stop a well if it starts gushing into the ocean they might want to think about trying to figure it out.

Most airplanes don't generally carry hundreds of million gallons of oil. Your right we should just let them do whatever they want, that seems to be working out well.

No people died in this fire so I don't really know where that cane from. I'm well aware that more people die in plane crashes than oil rigs. My point is that when there is a huge oil spill it ruins ecosystems not to mention fucks up the local economy. That's what I was referring to, not the non existent deaths.
