Right click on the my computer icon on your desktop or your start menu (not a shortcut though...) Select properties (you can also do this by going to the control panel and selecting System settings or something similar) In here you want the rightmost bottom (at top) tab that is *I believe* performance settings. Click first of the three buttons for virtual memory. In here should be a list of visual services. You want icon drop shadows which is found somewhere near the bottom of the list.
If for some reason you believe the above to be wrong or just are having a hard time finding i might be tempted to actually check my windows machine and host some screenshots to assist more.
At work I run some version of Windows XP Pro with the desktop pic below.
At home I run Windows XP Home SP2 and a laptop with FreeBSD 5.3 Release running KDE... very sweet. I did the Mac thing back in college and have kinda grown outta them.
Backgrounds aren't that done up for me, but if I weren't married they would most likely be all kinds of hot-ass naked women. I use to have this really cool one of two chicks making out with stereo headphones on... it was black and white... very nice. Guess thats what happens when you marry a Catholic-Conservative and you are a red-blooded horny as hell male.
