I have to agree with Raxe, I lived most of my Life in Alberta.

It is colder than a witche's tit for the long winter, but the rest of the year makes up for it...

although the reduced sales tax is often made up with higher costs on many things.

I think though that the HST is not charged on items that are "needs" bread, milk etc...could have changed though.

Nova Scotia has no front plate either, but I honestly would recomend only Halifax and surrounding area in this province, I am tooo Far away from a metro area and it is painful.

(edit*) you can import any car over 15 years old from anywhere in Canada, not just specific provinces...

Taxes in Quebec are not that bad if you don't make over 75K/yr. Montreal and Quebec have its perks and its drawbacks. Montreal is very cool and hip, but that comes with a price. You can get by with no French, but its good to learn. The women are amazingly beautiful here, very few fat people.

Ontario is nice, a little boring, but a good province to live in.

Alberta is probably the most "American" province. Nice country, Gods country in the mountains.

BC is paradise. But very granola and expensive. But I want to move there, because I love surfing and the mild winter.

East coast is full of good people and its beautiful. Its a little slower out there as well.
