200 on a flashlight, all depends. I use them in my line of work. Love to light up the darkness. So worth it to me.

Candlepower.net forums. Some wild stuff. Folks that deal with flashlights lik others with cameras, tools, cars, etc. Just another hobby.

See now if you have to use a flashlight practically everyday, then maybe I could understand wanting one that you know is a great product that will last a very long time... But for someone like me, who maybe busts out the flashlight every few months, that just seems insane.

              Check out Dorcy flashlights

Dorcy makes some AWESOME flashlights and retail for less as they aren't as popular (no marketing mark-up on prices).

Picked myself up ome of these. FANTASTIC white light, 180 Lumens, LED, runs on standard AA's. Not to mention it was a mere 24 bucks at the local Sears in the tool department, with 4 AA's to start you off.

The LED Cyber Light Flashlight takes advantage of leading technology with its true spot reflector system, which provides a 276 meter beam of light. The super bright, high flux LED produce 200 lumens and lasts for 5 hours of continuous use. The LED Cyber Light uses the highest strength materials for the lens and housing, making it incredibly durable, withstanding even a 3 meter drop test. Comes complete with 4 AA cell batteries and a nylon lanyard. Batteries are inserted by unscrewing the bottom of the light. (41-4750)

              Product Specifications

              Lumens: 180
              Run Time: 5 Hours
              Beam Distance: 500 Feet
              Bulb Type: LED
              Batteries: 4 AA Included
              Product Material: Plastic
              Product Dimensions: 7.8" L X 1.5" W
              Bezel Diameter: 2.25"
              Product Weight: .55 lbs
              Available Color(s): Yellow/Black
              Switch: Push button Top
Additional Features: - 8 Ft drop test, true spot reflector system

Imma gonna leave it in the trunk of my e30 to use when I need a light...replacing the glovebox OEM charging light.

I just picked up almost the same one as an early Christmas present to myself. I didn't get a DS.

And for you it would be completely insane, a cheapo light is fine for at home use.

I use my light every day as an inspection tool, being able to see in dark confined spaces is critical to me at work so spending the money is a no brainer.

Some people just like their gadgets though.
