Has anyone does this full time? I have 7 years experience in my field without a diploma from anywhere. It was through friends and luck I am where I am. For me to stay in the field and change jobs I need to finish my degree. Im not really that old (24 and yes I started at 17) but I do depend on my full time job to pay my bills and I don't have a lot of room for taking a cut in pay. Is there some type of moocher program I can go on to get assistance while I go back?

Fill out the FAFSA and see what your EFC is. You may qualify for grants. All school loans are through the Ed Dept and have low interest rates. You can take out loans for living expenses if needed also.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

He speaks the truth. once you get the FAFSA filled out, it will let you know if you qualify for Pell grants and other "free" funding. as for working while going, there should be some program that would be what you need that will work for your hours. otherwise there is always online courses through most colleges to finish up what you needComment

Not to mention they can be a quite cost-effective alternative. Get the most for your education dollar. And if OPs goal is to obtain a 4-year degree, take as many transferrable courses from the CCs as well. Again, more cost-effective.

I've been working full time since 18 (I'm 24 now as well omg) and I occasionally take night classes to continue my education. At my local CC, the classes start around 6:30 PM and finish up anywhere between 8:30 and 9:45. Honestly, working and taking classes isnt that bad but you need to free up a few nights during the week.

Are you 100% certain they won't transfer? Unless it's some online only school, most should transfer. I had no problem transferring more than 40 credits from Portland CC to Gonzaga University.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment
