just listening on NORML's website...I don't have cable...And no link, i typed something in the URL barOriginally posted by Dannylink?
NORML's site is being flooded right now, however...can't even load the homepage. I'll keep putting up numbers as I hear them, though.
Couldn't find anything on cnn.com earlier...seems like they don't want to put something up until it's doneComment

Interesting, I really thought it would pass.
What killed it for me (of course, assuming I was a Cali resident) was the fact that it disallowed employers to preemptively remove workers from their duties if they looked/smelled/acted like they were high on pot, even if that worker's job included operating heavy/dangerous machinery. After watching a car fall off a lift onto a tech at work (who later tested positive for marijuana, and showed obvious signs of it beforehand) there's no way in hell I'd want that passed. Especially from a small business owner's perspective; the safety/liability aspect is horrendous.
Whenever I (rarely) see someone at work who seems to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol, meds, etc., I pull his ass for a conversation PRONTO. There's too much at stake for some bullshit like that in a (industrial style) working environment.
Other than that, what the hell, let em all smoke it up, I guess.1991 318iS

It isn't over yet, only 15% of precincts have reported.Interesting, I really thought it would pass.

Personally, I don't see why we in this country can't treat weed like what it is...An intoxicating consumable...just like alcohol
If legalization comes to pass I really would hope for them to, honestly, be treated in a similar fashion...
don't show up to work drunk/drink at work
don't drive drunk
don't drink in public (like on the street corner)
don't bring alcohol onto school grounds
These are all things that, if i were making the rules, would apply to MJ just the same. the tricky part is enforcement...can't really breathalyze for *how* high someone is
EDIT: still 56% 44% with 17% reported
this seems way too stable...something aint rightComment

+1 for all that, I've no problem with legalization (although I wouldn't/couldn't start smoking anyways, I'm in the Marine Corps reserve). It isn't over yet, only 15% of precincts have reported.

Prop 19 though, just seems silly. Almost as if someone had the section I brought up written in 'on purpose'...to kill its chance of passing.1991 318iS

BFD, you have Budwieser and you have San Adams.
You will have cheap dope that'll work in a pinch and you have those small quality growers with the KGB.
Everybody can be happy as you will have a choice on what to purchase.
Moot point as it looks like it will fail.:(
