I like the look of my E90 (got the rear lights changed) but the car is a POS. The interior makes cabin noise, the ride is ok, the electronic issues are BS.

Theyve already replaced the moonroof part, the window switch on the driver door didnt work, rubber seal of the drunk. Ohhh and this brake censor issue.

The car was a CPO and only has 34k miles on it atm.

I will never buy another new BMW and maybe no other BMW other than the e30 I want.

Same here. When the 1 Series was announced I thought "Great! A light-weight stripper that will drive great, have plenty of fun quotient without all the fluff!".

What was I thinking? A car like that wouldn't be the rolling annuity that dealers want, so we didn't get one. If this continues, if I ever want a new car, I'll have to buy a Honda or Mazda or Subie.......

When my kids outgrew the back seat of my E30, I went Back to the Future and bought a real sweet E28 535is. Just enough electronics to be useful, but I can diagnose it with a multimeter.

Dear BMW: please give us a nice simple car for a change. I don't need 8 brake modes, or a toy diff, or 1001 nannies, PDC, mega-HP, anything my smart phone can do, or any of the other things that distance me from the experience of driving the car.

Build me something that will last. You know how. You used to do it so well.
What does it say about your quality when people are terrified to own one without a warranty?

Sorry for the rant. BMW used to own my motoring heart. Not so much anymore.

running coilovers or track suspensions like most of us have are not comfortable. Sporty, yes. Comfortable, no.

Stop acting like you drive the best car in the world, they are cheap, fun, and easy to work on, thats why we drive them

+1 to that, electrical on the new stuff blows

I was in Italy earlier this year and saw the hatch 1 series, I fucking love that car, they are everywhere out there. That car with a swap would be sick

I'm just gonna throw it out there - an E39 530i M-sport (with the M54B30) is a very legitimate option in my opinion. Am I biased? Fuck yes I am, but it's a freakin awesome car, and it'll cost you half as much as an E90. Just update the stereo and you're good.

has nothing to do with "being cheap"
it had to do with quality vs. price. I think e90 and family are great cars just overpriced.

I see quite a few cars everyday here- today I had a 06' that needs a new DME and possibly
a few injectors-- I am sure the owner is not going to have a very nice christmas. the steering column locking mech. seems to be the biggest problem chassis wise on these cars.

but, for 16,000 dollars, i would probably jump at one too. try to look for something as close to just out of the warranty as pos. and that has always been serviced by BMW, if something big does go wrong and you find a "good" dealership, you may have a chance at BMW covering atleast some of the cost- atleast thats the way it works here.

I've got a E60 535i. Same thing except like 200lbs heavier. JB3 + downpipes and the thing is pretty damn quick. Still like my E30 better, its a REAL car.

For around $16k and above I am finding 07 328i 6 speeds usually without sports package and usually with maintenance warranty. Should the lack of maintenance warranty be the reason not to buy the car? I assume you work on a number of E9Xs in Germany. I don't know if you see any higher mile/kilometer cars in for service but do they become money pits after a certain point?
