I award you both half points for being able to tell me they were flipping "snowmachines". What I was really after were the things attached to their handlebars, just inboard of their grips that they would reach over and flip up or down in between tricks.

This is the only good photo I have found which looks like what they were using:

I just got a chance to go riding for the first time this winter. I rode in Dane County, which is in southern Wisconsin and the trails were pretty good since the blizzard came through last week. I've got a '98 Polaris XC700. It's got basic upgrades from the previous owner including reeds, B&B silencer (oxymoron), 192 studs, etc. The thing has more power than I am usually comfortable with and can't imagine needing anything more. I paid more a few years ago, but I have seen these things pop up for around $1500 recently.

Specialized trick bars, most new models come with the center hanger for off sled riding.

Think what the guys who ride trials bikes bars look like... It's for multiple hand placement options...

Yeah, I watched it a few days later and one of they guys did a "superflip". He used them to get his body back around to catch up with the flipping sled. I googled superflip bars and found some info on them. It was just weird to see them flipping all the time and I didn't see them necessarily used for just this one trick.

Used to ride from the 3rd grade through highschool, but haven't been since. I miss it. My first sled was a 1970 Yamaha 250, then I went to a Polaris Indy Lite and then a 1998 Polaris 440 Indy. Here are some pictures (not mine).

I rode out of Gaylord, MI last Monday.

Only had 1 day to ride but it was great, some of the trails were a little thin but the groomers were still running so they were flat.
Only 15 of the 220 miles we rode that day were on beat trails. I was good rid'n. Even trail #7 the main north / south feeder was flat, 70~80mph for the 30 miles between Indian River and Gaylord.

Oh ya, we were renting. 2010 skidoo 500SS's. very nice sleds. I really like the XP chassis. That's the 3rd time I've rented an XP since they came out. Compared to the Rev chassis the XP has more leg room, its lighter and more nimble. Its a great sled. Jumps nice and flat too.

How to make bar risers, I am very excited for the snow to start falling.

I need to re mount the headlight forward so I can move the bars forward.

I remember from my visit to the UP in Michigan the RIDICULOUS amount of trails there. Epicness

Ummm in the winter time that is sometimes the only way to get around. The School parking lots much of the time are full of Sleds. Some of the more remote areas around where I live its how people get the main road where their car is parked
