Nah, it was in an '88 Maxima. And yes, birth was all over the front seat of the car. We sold the car a few months later and there was still some evidence left :D . By the time we sold it tho, it was a high mile wholesale piece, so I wasn't too worried about it.
This is waaaay early, but in case it doesn't have the opportunity to come up again later: be really careful in the last trimester (especially the last month or so) if you guys are still doing the "love" thing. With our second daughter, my wife went into labor right after our business was completed and we had to rush to the hospital. We made it, and had to spend an uncomfortable night in the hospital and they gave meds which caused the contractions to subside (this was at 8mos.) Two weeks later, we were at it again, and she started having major contractions, and this time, we waited a bit(too long as it turned out) to see if they would resolve, but nothing doing. We took off on a mad rush to the hospital and didn't make it. I had to deliver my second daughter in the front seat of the car, on an off ramp, 50* weather, at 12:15 in the morning, with one weak ass map-light. Everything went fine, that was 8 1/2 years ago.
And you ought to look at an e34 Touring. Once you have two though, you are in Mini-Van land, my friend.
NEVER.
There are many options available for family haulers such as Subaru and others.
I will never own a minivan.
Yeah, I said that one, too. Once you get one, you will never want to be without one. Of course, you'd never want it as your car.
I actually kept my wife's old Voyager Van for a while after she got her Sienna. It was great to have for hauling big stuff - bumpers, doors, wheels, big sheets of plywood, etc. Having 4 cars for 2 drivers got to be a pain in the ass parking-wise though - and I used it to barter with the guy who re-painted our house.
None of those wagons - e34, Scooby, Passat, or even a Pacifica will come close to being as useful as a van when you need the room.
You do know BMW has a minivan in the works, don't you?
