yeah the hilux was going over all the same trails without a problem, just lurking. The shows getting better I think, but they should have picked people who can drive! stunt doubles for a car review? pathetic.

The Hilux also was modded to the hill and was probably maintained. The Ford looked neglected like most of out E30s and the Dodge was "too new to fix". Most of the challenge seemed to be based on lucky, but minor quibbles aside.

I really laughed when I noticed the full cage and harnesses (which they only wore half the time).

Um..... When you start using disparaging terms such as "rubbish", I think its time to lay off the BBC for a while.

BTW, I watched five minutes of TG-USA and that was it.

Its decent. Not in the same league as TG UK, but I still enjoy it.

Well I would have to say you just cant beat the original Top Gear, but I am starting to really like this new one. IThe last episode where they drove the American trucks through Alaska was pretty good, and I loved how they had a yoter following them just in case anything went wrong lol

I've forced myself to try to watch it and I never make more than about 10 minutes. I actually wanted to see CRZ segment, but I couldn't finish it. It's so bad.

It's insulting that the BBC thinks Americans are not smart enough for the BBC version. Instead we get the same stunts that have already been done, but by people with no personality, no journalistic integrity, and worst of all stunt drivers. stunt drivers??????? It's insulting and everyone that thinks it's a great show is just proving the BBC's theory about Americans correct.

In a column published by The Sunday Times in 2008, Leno expressed concern that an American version could lack the critical reviews the British version is known for.[14] The British show is produced for the BBC with public funds while the American show airs on commercial television. Leno believes that the show may have to worry about offending current and potential sponsors by giving their products poor reviews, leading to a compromise in the journalistic integrity and freedom of the original show.

As much as I love TGUK, "journalist integrity" is not exactly something the show is running rampant with. They constantly stretch the truth and fabricate facts for entertainment value.

I also thought this was lame... Until i watched TGUK today.

It is the episode in the last series where they test the Porsche, Aston, and Maserati in the business park. They are acting like they are having a great time in the cockpit, but you cannot see who is driving in the drift shots around the corner.

I might be wrong, but it seems like the stunt drivers aren't only in the America show.

Also, I really enjoyed the last episode... Quite entertaining i thought.

Damn there are a lot of bad reviews, Some of you should try watching top gear Australia. It was truely unbearable and in my Eyes Top Gear USA is fantastic in comparison to the Australian version. It wont live up the the standards of the UK version, but for something to watch I still download it :)

Does anyone else hate the consistent use of cliches? For some reason that really annoys me and shows a lack of originality and talent.
