im confused this doesnt look like the edited file that i have on my comp. does anyone know why? i uploaded it to photobucket.
a) photobucket quality is skeptical
b) color spaces can be different and color profiles for the web and different browsers
c) are you viewing on a different monitor?
I don't know any specifics or solid answers but these are general ideas.

photobucket blows
make sure you are using sRGB NOT AdobeRGB
make sure you don't have giant fountain things coming out the sides of your friend's head.
Firefox is the only browser I know of that supports custom color space profiles, so it will probably properly reflect the edits you make on your computer as long as you aren't using photopoopbucketface. if you want free hosting, use picasaweb, flickr, or min.us.
but i'm pretty sure the problem you are having has to do with you using AdobeRGB in photoshop or lightroom or whatever instead of sRGB.

OH and if you shoot RAW, you can export into either color space, so make sure you shoot RAW. the in camera settings (if there are any) allowing you to choose between the 2 or 3 color spaces is only for the jpeg preview of each photo you get in your camera.
